Absolutely - 7Zip is the best compressor available at the moment.
I use it like this: I compress my stuff with 7Zip, but for decompressing i use Winrar, it decompresses nearly everything even .ace archives and alike.

7-zip is best tool to Compress big file (if you compress it with format : 7z)

If you are using 64-bit Machine( like AMD64, you should use it)
