It's only demo version - so you can't register it. On acronis web site you can get only time limited demo.
Do anybody use it with SATA II HDD? My drive restore takes 2-3 hours (20 GB) insted of 10-15 min! I'm using Acronis.True.Image.Workstation.v9.1.3694.

I know that the last version is the Version 10 compatible with Vista too.... (Acronis True Image Home 10)

Acronis Workstation including Universal Restore is the bogs dollox.
Using a program like Belarc Advisor to obtain your Product Key it asks for , you can restore your exact same back-up image to any computer.
That includes all the programs you have installed , drivers , the lot - you'll get exactly the same layout and screen as you've got on that crappy 'ol computer you're on now.
Another great thing about Acronis is that it shrinks your final image to at least the 1/3rd of the original size , so with patience , you'll be able to save a 20 Gigabyte image to one DVD for safekeeping or use as many DVD's as you want as it asks you to insert another if the last one gets full.
Acronis allows you to mount images , that means use programs on a saved image just like using a virtual disk drive , so there's no need to re-install programs you don't use very often ,you can just run them from the mounted image.
It took me a few weeks to learn everything about Acronis Workstation but i'm glad i did , in my opinion it's the best thing since whatever the sliced bread was the best thing since.

Ghost is good, but Acronis has much more features and capabilities. It's much better than ghost.

Hey kid, have you got a problem or what? FFS System Mechanic 6 screwed up my hard drive, I even had to re-install Windows, but you don't see me dissing it on every frigging thread, do you? Grow up FFS and give us all a break!
