Lavasoft´s Project ECO, which aims to evolve our environment towards safer computing, gives you an updated version of the Lavasoft VX2 Cleaner. This is an add-on to Ad-Aware SE. VX2 is one of the most problematic applications to remove from your computer. While Ad-Aware SE effectively deals with most VX2 variants, there are a few that none of today's available antispyware application can detect or remove.
Please Close Ad-Aware SE, if it is currently running and restart Ad-Aware after installing the VX2 Cleaner.
It's a nasty sucker, I had the misfortune to come across it some months
ago. At the time the ad removers could delete parts of it but the
active component detected any deletes at shutdown and copied and
renamed the DLL's. I was lucky I had another PC, I used adaware
to locate the files on the infected machine and powered off so no
renaming happened. I then took the harddrive and put it into
another PC and manually deleted the files on it. I was pretty
p..d of by the end of the day because of the ammount of time and effort
it took. The AD company responsible did have a remover on their
site but it couldn't remove s..t. If you do a google on VX2 you
will find many similar sorry tales like mine.

Yeah, VX2 are nasty, hope you don't get across them...
Hope they include this tool in 1.07 ver., but who knows,
when I have conntacted them to ask them to insert a "PAUSE" button to manual scans, they replayed that Adaware SE is an automated tool !!, oh well some people are just stupid, woops, soory not stupid , just ignorant :)
