Is this program any good?
RE : by iLjAVA on 2006-10-14 16:53:50
This program is great! I don't know exact figures but it's staying in my tray for a couple of years and I am completely happy with it. Small, flexible and effective.

Just $24.95 (US Dollars, approximately EUR19,90 European Euros) for each installation of Ad Muncher will cover you for life. Your registration will also cover all future v4.x Ad Muncher releases, as well as all previous releases.

Oh, well.

In my system, Mozilla and Firefox are blocking ALL pop-ups (yes, I use both, one for the sites I trust, the other for the sites I don't;) and Outpost firewall is blocking ALL ads. But it's nice to know that this useless software is a good one. Thank you! =)

All the people who scream out about buying programs, consider this: I am a student in Russia, and with russian economics, working and studying together, I manage to earn only 100$ aday. People who have full-time jobs manage to earn 200$ a month. So tell me, smart-asses, how can i EVER have 24$ to throw away on a program? Of course, I may stop using the program, since I can't afford buying it, but then it's kinda unfair. People in countries with good econimics can afford using normal programs, and people in poor countries (even third-world countries) are f-cked up, right? I know, the developer has to earn money for living, but to f-ck up all the people who live in poor countries seems to be simply racistic to me. If you live in a rich country - welcom. If you don' - go and screw yourself. If you vote so much for bbuying, gimme spare 24$ and I'll buy. NOT EVERYBODY HAS MONEY. And if we don't, DOES THAT MEAN that we should live without computers and programs? In the stone age, maybe? So next time, talking about buying, or address to rich people, or think what you are suggesting.
Re: Ad Muncher 4.7 Final by Shadowdeath on 2006-10-23 00:45:23
Well, it was "100$ per month"*, actually. Wrongfully typed "a day". Anyway. Just some people make me mad. People who have enough money are too busy bying to think that there are people with less budget.
Re: Ad Muncher 4.7 Final by _deXter_ on 2006-10-28 20:56:10
Shadowdeath, was born in and live in a third world country and I ain't exactly rich either. In fact our country is known for poverty (and piracy :P) so much so that when someone mentions our country's name, poverty is the first thing that comes in the mind of them "westerners".

I myself do not purchase a lot of software simply because I can't afford them. But Ad Muncher actually makes sense to purchase since it saves a LOT of downloading and bandwidth charges. When I was on dialup, page loading times reduced to such a large extent thanks to AM, all my work got done quick. Now I'm on DSL and I get charged by the amount of data I download; and with all the swf flash ADs these days my limit gets over pretty fast since its broadband.

On top of it, I use a lowly P3-450 Mhz comp that can't handle too many open browser windows, but thanks to Ad Muncher, all these Ad-Free pages don't occupy much resources anymore.

It's a one time "investment" that saves a LOT of time and money (for me atleast). If you have like an uber comp with an uber net connection (or a free net connection, or enough money to afford an x MB/s connection) then indeed Ad Muncher may seem like a waste. If not, its plain common sense to invest in Ad Muncher.

* Er, in the first line above, I meant "Shadowdeath: *I was born in and live in a third world country".
Re: Ad Muncher 4.7 Final by _deXter_ on 2006-10-28 21:07:46
Besides, Ad Muncher is not just for blocking ADs and saving money, but the amount of other little features like content filtering, privacy options (referrer/proxy chaining/tracking cookies/etc), user interface modifications, adult filters, and many more options like that make the program even more worthwhile and thus cannot be compared with any other program out there. It does so much for so less... Its in a league of its own. I mean c'mon, this lil baby is just around 300 KB and is so fast and efficient that you just have to install it and forget it. You don't even have to manually right click on an AD and block (although it even has that option for new/unknown ADs) and its generic filter database is so damn fast .. try enabling and disabling Ad Muncher and load a site. You'll see that the site actually loads faster with Ad Muncher enabled.

Re: Ad Muncher 4.7 Final by humeyboy on 2006-11-05 10:15:58
Ok I grab above file and its a blank icon, so I name it with extention of .RAR and it works but WTF is password, it aint 9down or www.9down.com and is it a trial POS again ?
Re: Ad Muncher 4.7 Final by humeyboy on 2006-11-10 07:55:01
Gives error with a .dll file trying to write, choose ignore and it seems to install and asks if you want to keep current settings (already got older build) and it then runs but still in older build. :(

What is all this about "buy this program"?? Since when has 9down had anything to do with purchasing software? :p

I can just continue using FREE IE7pro. I want to try AdMuncher for the next six months at zero cost. I won't buy it. I just want to try it for longer than the trial.
