The Adobe® Photoshop® CS4 11.0.1 update addresses a number of issues discovered after Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 Extended (11.0) software were released.The most significant fixes in the Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update include the following:
A number of issues that could cause slow performance have been addressed.
Pen barrel rotation with Wacom tablets now works correctly.
Photoshop now correctly recognizes 3D textures edited by a plug-in.
The quality of the results of Auto-Blend Layers (Stack Images) has been improved.
A problem that could result in a crash when pasting formatted text has been fixed.
A crash that could result from a corrupt font no longer occurs.

how do i add 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com to my hosts file. when i save it, it says it cant be sved here, save in documents instead? i even hit read-only and that didnt help.
before doing anything to the hosts file amke a backup then
right click it and select properties
unselect/untick following boxes
READ ONLY
HIDDEN
then hit OK
NExt open Hosts with note or wordpad
make changes ie add
this below the Localhost line
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
(there is a tab between the .1 and activate)
close hosts saving changes)

what part dont you understand. IT WILL NOT LET ME SAVE IT IN THE ETC FOLDER, IT SAYS DO YOU WANT TO SAVE IN MY DOCUMENTS INSTEAD? if i cant save the file into the etc folder, does it still work being saved in my documents?

try this, it finally worked on vista. move the Hosts file to another location, then move the new file into windows/system32/drivers/etc folder. it wouldnt work when i tried overwriting the file in the etc folder.

Instead of doing all that crap, just close out the hosts file after you've added the line WITHOUT trying to save the file, and Windows will automatically ask you if you want to save the changes to the hosts file- DUHHHH
