Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by BigMamma on 2006-12-20 07:05:55
Something keeps happening, Kaspersky keeps telling me that the file is a trojan and won't let me install it. But when I scan it nothing is found. It is only when I run the application. I read somewhere that Outpost won't work with Kaspersky. Is there a way to fix this?
RE : by salmonela on 2006-12-20 07:15:03

Add Outpost folder and subfolders in trusted zone , simply turn off Kaspy while installing Outpost.

Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by RE-CON on 2006-12-20 08:16:22
Yes the features are the best in outpost.
I have seen the as so called testing pages, can forget they work with the manufactures together. The result will be always the best of the advice by the product to scan online from them supporter ads in background.
Its a strange business with the security and all these pages who do look like neutral test results for antivirus and firewalls programs. Many websites I believe are supported by some companies of the products for giving the best test results online. Maybe the PC Magazines are right cause I was read about that: GData AntiVirusKit too.
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by salmonela on 2006-12-20 09:31:45
Its very interesting , that they cant recommend not one security solution (all of them have security/design flaws) , but still in their last analysis winer is zone alarm (btw they purchase full analysis):

"Since its vendor bought our results, we believe that they will fix issues in ZoneAlarm and will present a better product soon."

To be honest I dont know what to think about Matousec , but one thing is certain , he shake things in "firewalling"
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by Set on 2006-12-20 09:39:04
old news >:(

suki pindosskie vi vse sgorite v adu :-0
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by RE-CON on 2006-12-20 10:02:20
Yes not one "all in one security solution suite" is recommended nor in pc magazine not haufe or any other.
Strange is that they stick by zone alarm. Seems to be popular in UK in Germany. price + value (quality)

I going ask Matousec if his labor is able to do datarecovery cause my hdd of 200gb IBM gona the motor broken, lets see what his business can do :) :) :)

k lets be honest, I mean the same all these compersatione websites of AV etc... Forums etc... maybe some special sponcores behind to adjust the results of them test results. Just read that UK, Comodo do business with webhosts. Needs to check what kind of ads they display. Sure a logic to give free licenses is good for endusers, if not on the same webhosts are security relevant product pages such as forums placed.

I wonder why DVD player soft wich was 65 MB is suddenly more than 100 MB of size by the same features. Seems like trend even bigger the product filesize even higher the possible price. If let the air out upx and co. Neros 6 going full installed from ~120 MB optimized the files with 28 MB installed. Now Nero 7 does in my option the same job by a few hundred MB. Sure its good for the hardware industry to sale bigger and more storrage devices otherwise one will standing.
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by salmonela on 2006-12-20 10:59:54
haha , looks like they hold their files on rapidshare , need some points :) :)
RE : by RE-CON on 2006-12-20 11:23:40

Yes it seems so witch the rapidshare collectores. I just i don't know what they do if someone upload them files from rapid into them homepage webspace. Not as a hack attack just to backup it and another one post the ddl to the true mirrors cause then its hosted. There so many ways to doing that not only 777 permissions and something more. :) :)

Between some are in really serious forums such as Opera Blog etc and report there Javascript errors. Of course he got asked about his website but he can't tell it in there, cause the content will shock them to much.

But I really do not agree that there run more with my name around here with a small extension.  Cause of such stupid jokes a while ago I got lot of problems.

Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by salmonela on 2006-12-20 11:05:58
half of files in installers are garbage ... who knows maybe vista is needy :)
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by salmonela on 2006-12-20 11:25:11
In fact MS really having this habit , they always drag hardware department of industry , with their OSes system requirements.
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by RE-CON on 2006-12-20 11:28:24
Eighter the programmers forgot to let the empty air out of the files by compiling so that UPX and co. is needed by enduser or the spaceholders inside the files of the sale products is reserved for later purpose. Or as I mean it must be to keep the storage device industry alive. :)
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by RE-CON on 2006-12-20 11:37:49
Yes, thats many more. Look as Nero was burning Rom down, he didn't blow the flames out but as he comes back with the cd burning tools he blow a lot. Never mind all his .exe can handle by upx some dll's too just a few needs to skip. The result its free of air, ready to burn. :) Little bit joking must be. I think version 6 was 108 or somethink 120 mb installed full after upx run over it, less than 30 mb.

I have been using this version for some time now, i get many more program change alerts, too menny. Even when the program hasn't been changed or updated, its a good firewall but all these alerts for program change are starting to get on my nerves.

This is the best firewall if you configure it rite.
Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by RE-CON on 2006-12-20 20:24:12

Re: Agnitum Outpost Firewall 4.0 (971.584.079) by RE-CON on 2006-12-21 00:21:36
I didn't install it but if your Pc slows down I'm sure the one I using now will complete slow down or being unusable. Good to know. I just read many times between they release some new versions of it "Fifa edition etc..."
I didn't get ads on the screen all possible ad codes, urls, keywords are blocked same as by webcounters.

I don't think visitors of values gona lost if it ever get as it once was a serious page.
RE : by salmonela on 2006-12-21 09:17:23

I am here since 2005 , but I know this site earlier but never posted. Now I have more free time so I am more active.

People come and go , some of them having different nicks on different forums I guess (I have) , who knows...

Yes it seems this site become kindergarten , but every forum (of this type) for a couple a years now having this type of "clientèles" , it seems to me that PC become widely available and more cheaper , so we have more people , that means more stupidity , less quality.

Obviously this child is a menace and should not be allowed anywhere near real people. 9down the continual attacks by this uagadugu warrants immediate termination of all access to this site. People should not and do not want to be subjected to children gone wild while their parents are either to drunk or stupid to manage their behavior.
Please ban and remove ASAP for the greater good of this site. Uagadugu is a disruption this place no longer should tolerate. Attacks such as his demonstrate a very low intelligence that everyone finds annoying and boring.
Everyone’s right to their opinion should be upheld at all cost and children such as this have no place here.
Please ban uagadugu immediately for the greater good and future of 9down !
