Damm!  I can't get this thing to install!

When I try it says it needs to re-boot before continuing with the install.
The maching tries to re-boot but hangs, forcing the reset button.  Then I have to choose "previous known good config" and re-boot.  Then the program tries to continue its install and suddenly says I need to re-boot before continuing.... vicious circle!!

It has also screwed up my 1.95.3105 and if i try to re-install that all I get is Dr.Watson trying phone home...

Clearing all the registry entries including the Star Synergy ones doesn't help.

Oh well, back to CDRWin which still works!  Thank God everything I have to burn is in ISO format!

I have a serious problem.  I uninstalled the old version of alcohol and then installed this one.  all seemed to go fine, it activated and works.  My problem is that it appears when I uninstalled the old version of alcohol it diodn't uninstall the virtual drive, consequently I now have 2 virtual drives even tho alcohol only shows it as having one.

Any suggestions as to how I can safely remove the old virtual drive

re: "Any suggestions as to how I can safely remove the old virtual drive"

If alcohol is uninstalled, go into device manager and uninstalled the scsi and raid controller.

reboot and installed alcohol.

Re: Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3823 Released! by rabbai on 2006-02-28 14:15:12
btw if you are a download junkie, and troubled with adware, spyware, keylogger, i recommend NOD32 from ESET www.eset.com, not only a antivirus but also adware spyware killer! but if you want third party antispyware heres the good one... Spy Cleaner Gold 9.2 SpyBot - Search & Destroy 1.4 Final SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06 PEACE!
RE : by Classico on 2006-02-28 15:26:52
You continue to assure me that none of this happened, but I am telling you IT DID! I know you probably think that you know it all, but you don't man, trust me. I am a very experienced computer user, and am very careful with everything I do. For you to just assume that all of this is user error, of user fantasy is ludicrous. I noticed that you have yet to download a trial of Spysweeper and scan your system with it and post a screenshot of a clean system, yet you continue to tell me I am wrong. C'mon man, trust me on this one...I posted the screenshot of what was found...My system was clean prior to installing the program, and infected immediately afterwards. BTW, I already run Nod32, Sygate Pro, ADAware, MSAntispyware, Spybot, SpywareBlaster, and CWShredder (As I have tried to tell you, I know what the hell I am doing.)
Re: Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3823 Released! by Classico on 2006-02-28 17:02:37
Well, either way, there were no traces in the scan before installing the program, and there were traces after installing.

Sorry to post 3 times in a row, but there is no editing of posts here.

Anyway, I will not be posting anymore heads ups here as nobody seems to take them seriously.

Re: Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3823 Released! by Classico on 2006-03-01 04:52:39
You know it's funny, but none of you guys have scanned your system with SPYSWEEPER! I have told you guys a few time to use SpySweeper to scan, and then you might find something. None of my others scanners found it, so I doubt yours will either. Anyway, like I said, I hope you guys that think I'm wrong enjoy having your keystrokes recorded.
RE : by rabbai on 2006-03-01 11:58:20
ok then.. its only registry, i said it will not record unless it is a program that loaded in your memory (stay resident).. BTW make sure that you POST is a program or file that found by your smart SPYSWEEPER! not a damn registry.. PEACE!
Re: Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3823 Released! by Classico on 2006-03-01 04:59:48
BTW, I have not downloaded, or installed anything new except for this program.

I have been infected with the same spyware, I just ran a spysweeper scan and it found windows keylogger, what the hell is this?
RE : by rabbai on 2006-03-01 13:11:25
show me the file or program.. not the registry traces, pls post not in quarantine, pls post it in the right way not in quarantine.. make sure that alcohol 120 has a keylogger in it... i don't know some people don't undersand what is registry traces.. if you find the program that run on your memory, pls post the filename of the keylogger (*.exe, *.dll) :)
RE : by Classico on 2006-03-01 14:46:44
It is simply a keylogger. You should delete, or quarantine it. I quarantined it, and scanned again, and came up clean.

Good Luck!

Re: Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3823 Released! by Classico on 2006-03-01 16:10:59
I seriously mistaked you guys for people who knew what the hell they were doing, but after your last comment (And the other as well,) I have come to the conclusion that you guys are just kids that download pirated software, and think they know it all.

rabbai, you truly have no grasp of how malware/spyware/virues operate.

You have alot of reading to do, so I will let you get to it.

RE : by rabbai on 2006-03-01 19:50:53
my friend im confident with my opinion, ask somebody who is more knowledgeable about keyloggers on how they perform, how can they record your keystrokes, if the keylogger is not loaded in memory? give me proof and i believe you.. i know what im doing, im a software freak since 1997.. before you comment classico check your processes that are running in your memory maybe it has a trace of malware, if you suspect some programs that residing in your memory, jot down the filename and search in www.processlibrary.com thats the basic to hunt MALWARE, SPYWARE, KEYLOGGERS!

Instead of talking about a false spyware, nobody want to talk about real problems ?

The shell extensions simply disappear here after some time.

Reboot, there are back.

Wait a couple of hour, there are gone.

Wow you are a bunch of sniveling baboons. Why dont you just get a bunch of you together buy one copy. Use it on all of your computers, like civalized losers. I split the cost like 25 ways with a bunch of my friends, we are really happy. Instead of worrying about keyloggers, worms, and viruses. Besides there are little programs out there that re-write your key-logger files to say what ever you want them to say. So that when said retard reads them, they reallize you arent some sap, but that you are somebody to be reckoned with. I am not saying to stop jerking off to blogs about a would-be half assed hack, just do it with a smile and keep your pants on . Nobody wants to see your privates.

With Love
Evan Raul
