I dont think this will work longterm esp who wants to start app with its non orignal shortcut ?, the Betamaster 2nd Patch should work esp if you block the app with a real Firewall.

I will if i need it try from a working one to put all needed files together, export the regkeys etc.. cut the online tool creaate a installer. It coast near the same nerves as the protection from TMPGEnc XPress to patch. My only idear is by installation to take the online protection tool what it install from /temp as i was write in the topic before. Check the online protection system to know how to bypass it if possible rip it out. I see no other way as write a new installer reged and patchet for it.

BetaMaster's Updated Activator works 100% as long as you use the devsupp.dll patch method. The HOSTS method may or may not require the use of a firewall (mixed reports).

I concur with Halcyon. Also the hosts method along with the IP ban posted around nine back works without a firewall.

@ 6uldmn

Thanx man. Can I block Alchohol from internet access using Windows Firewall or should I go for some other third party firewalls. If so which firewall do U suggest?
RE : by 6uldmn on 2006-08-05 20:13:54

If there is a way to block a specific IP address with windows firewall, I can’t find it.

As for a firewall, yes you should immediately get a third party firewall.  I would suggest ZoneAlarm or Outpost, as stand alones, but whatever antivirus (AV) program you use, probably has a Security Suite or Internet Suite that will have the firewall and AV functions integrated saving you some system resources.

Windows XP Firewall cannot block outgoing only incomming (to change with Vista), so basically BSK you cant block alcohol with it.
Re: Alcohol 120% v1.9.5.4327 by 6uldmn on 2006-08-05 22:44:16
I just checked my firewall logs and see the Alcohol is trying to use an additional IP Address to dial home. Use the Route Add exclusion method, to block 95.137.236.101 and 222.73.255.74.

I also noticed that Alcohol has tried to piggy-back, using the same IP addresses, on FireFox and IE7. This leads me to believe the “Host only” method will not be successful for long.

Whats so special about Alcohol 120 anyways?I mean who needs 30+ Virtual Drives? Deamon Tools works fine and its open source. To rip copy protected media I use Blindwrite, much simpler in my opinion.I dont see any advantages in using it. Also there seems to be new builds every other week. Thats the reason I stopped using ZoneAlarm. Even for free I don't want to be a guineu pig for software companys. I really am curious to know why this software is better than any other.

Well just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

Is it just me or does every version of Alcohol since  1.9.5.2802 not have correct handlers for mounting virtual drives?

Using a clean install of XP and any new version of Alcohol, I can't right click an .ISO file or Nero image and "mount" it.  I need to go in through the program to do it.

The ancience  1.9.5.2802 does this fine, so I'm still using it.   Any advice?
