I solved the problem.
this problem about vista security problems. :)

I normally run the patch file is normal user. not admin.
and security options not allow the file renaming inthe program files folder.
and i run the patch as administrator ( right click - Run as administrator ) and push the patch
Andddd Works :)

now my alcohol registered :)

Error " Failed to rename original file ! "

This is a stupid error, but easy to solve.

when "Patch Server Check" shows the message "Failed to rename original file!" just uninstall Alcohol 120% and remove all windows registration. After that go to C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft, or in my case ( i have the Portuguese version of Win Xp ) C:\Programas\Alcohol Soft, and delete the folder and/or all files in "Alcohol Soft".

The error message appears because the uninstall of Alcohol does not delete all the files of the oldest versions ( the paths are different Ex: english C:\Program Files/, portuguese C:\Programas/ etc. dont know all the paths of all the languadges of windows xp but they must be different according to the version you are working with ), so the new patch files go to the wrong place ( usually an old version file that was not deleted).

After that, install again ( no more patching problems i hope ) and enjoy this lovely new version of Alcohol 120%.

For patch server check to be successful, try deleting the "alcohol_.exe" in the install folder left behind by previous version patches before applying new pathc. Hope this helps.

Yea man I know what you are saying there. I am using v1.9.5.4521 I have installed newer version but have always had problems with the virtual drive options disappearing in my context menu & the virtual drive failing to load after a reboot. I don't know what this deal is all about but I am stuck with v1.9.5.4521 for now. Not had a problem one with the version I am currently using.

i happen this accident on previous version.
but i reboot and use keymaker again and again.
so i could use app without notice.

i) Install Alcohol 120% v1.9.6.4719 *Retail* Incl Activator

ii) Use Run "keymaker.exe". Click the activate then click register ---> warning: don't open the program before!

iii) Run Alcohol 120%

I have a problem.I have 2 image files,one MDS,seconf MDF.When I mount MDS,then i can read data from MDF.When i tried it earlier,it worked.Then,i unmounted image,and now when i try to mount it,it won't work,saying that MDS file is invalid image file.I mounted image using Daemon Tools.PLEASE HELP!!!Thanks
