I wouldn't be unduly worried by the VirSCAN result because the very nature of a patcher is to block, remove or modify one or more of the installed program’s files, thereby bypassing the protection, it’s this behaviour that triggers false positives with some AV products.
None of the well known/better paid for AV products, or indeed even the above average free AV such as AntiVir or AVG are reporting Gashliquor’s patch as suspicious. So why then, everybody asks, does Gashliquor provide something for nothing? Perhaps for a challenge, a grudge against certain software companies, he’s a philanthropist to the end user or simply because he can. Only he can answer that.
Remember, Gashliquor is only providing, he’s not forcing people to use the patcher. You can always use the excellent free DVDFab HD Decrypter in combination with other free DVD software.
Personally, as I don’t regularly use AnyDVD (but I do rate it and it’s always being updated to circumvent the latest protections) I haven’t used the patcher, but I have no reason not to trust the patcher and would say to Gashliquor – you can still hold your head high!
For those of you that don’t trust the patcher, but really like using AnyDVD, perhaps you should buy it!

I have tested this patch myself.
T-101 is correct, A-Squared does list finding that bigbrother deal.
However everyother scanner I hit it with comes up clean.
I would like to know why the A-Squared scanner reports this, but I really think what we have is a false positive. A-Squared is a good scanner but I think it tripped here.
More investigation is required before reactions such as the ones here are called for.
I think both of you need to answer for the detection and the over the top reaction.

VirusTotal - Nothing found, VirSCAN - 4 suspicious or trojan files "found". Even the AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta setup file had ‘Fortinet’ reporting it as suspicious!!
I wouldn't be unduly worried by the VirSCAN result because the very nature of a patcher is to block, remove or modify one or more of the installed program’s files, thereby bypassing the protection, it’s this behaviour that triggers false positives with some AV products.
None of the well known/better paid for AV products, or indeed even the above average free AV such as AntiVir or AVG are reporting Gashliquor’s patch as suspicious. So why then, everybody asks, does Gashliquor provide something for nothing? Perhaps for a challenge, a grudge against certain software companies, he’s a philanthropist to the end user or simply because he can. Only he can answer that.
Remember, Gashliquor is only providing, he’s not forcing people to use the patcher. You can always use the excellent free DVDFab HD Decrypter in combination with other free DVD software.
Personally, as I don’t regularly use AnyDVD (but I do rate it and it’s always being updated to circumvent the latest protections) I haven’t used the patcher, but I have no reason not to trust the patcher and would say to Gashliquor – you can still hold your head high!
For those of you that don’t trust the patcher, but really like using AnyDVD, perhaps you should buy it!
