Okay. I would like to give you my thoughts about this patch.

To sum it all up, if you follow the instructions accurately and caefully, YES! It WILL work. It DOES give you a Corporate License for the software that NEVER expires. And amost all the functions are completely working, the Real-Time Scanning, Automatic & Manual Updates, etc.

I can't do an on-demand scanning due to that message. It says my License is expired. But to heck with it. I hope that the real-time scanning will do it's job perfectly.

So, yeah. Aside from that problem I face, I can say the patch DOES work, very good. =^__^= I just hope these kinds of patches are made for other programs, especially NORTON 360...

hmm... i got Bitdefender AV Plus and IS build 247 fully working including the on demand scan. No problem at all here.

i used the revised patch version 1.1 by sledge101 (03142007).. just google it. or you can check at **[ 9Down.com refused this word ]**. meganet for info.
tested fully working.

as of today a product update killed the patch for the security, but if you reinstall and do a manual update and not install the product update your good to go. in other words just update the virus sig. maybe a new patch will be out soon.

for those people who still didnt had product update for internet security and didnt kill the previous patch
please add block the execution of the application bdptch.exe in your parental control -->application located at C;\programfiles\softwin\bitdefender\bdptch.exe and the setloadorder.exe in your C:\programfiles\common files\softwin\bitdefender firewall\setloadorder.exe

do not run that application update,.

I am positive that i followed your program's instructions right, and everything works except for any scans which is the most important part. When i click any scan button a prompt displays, "On-demand scan tasks can not be run because your BitDefender license key has expired". Please tell me if i'm the only one though.

this is what i done, 1/ turn on internet 2. repair bit d is 3. patch 4. restart 5. mark to notify of update 6. only update virus signatures. all will work this way until they fix it for real this time

hmmm sydblue BD IS on demand scan is working perfectly here. tested at my home pc, office and my friends pc.

i think u have to be careful using the patch like instruction includes embedded automatic cleaning of files and registries plus additional keys added by BD not seen in previous patches.

then follow instructions.
what i see here is that

* default directory is recommended C: then turn off internet connection.
1. do a clean uninstall ( take note of the click HERE instructions they are embedded cleaners and fixers for the hidden keys by BD then reinstall it
2. restart when asked
3. plug in your internet
4. update product updates + Av sigs = 7815kb = its ok you can update it
5. After update Turn off internet
6. Restart PC
7. Apply patch 1 .
8. Apply patch 2. its kinda garbled ill ask sledge101 to improve it. kinda confusing and smashed out
but i kinda got what he means here's the instructions
When clicking patch 2. make sure you close first the one who presents an error window then the other one where the window says bitdefender has been patched ( this is the last windows to close)
then unhide appz at patch 1 to resetn your actual date
once actual date has been reset to original exit the date modifying appz
9. Click patch 3.
10. Restart PC
gues that helps .

by the way i almost forgot to mention before you go to #10 instrctions. open bitdfeneder and block bdptch.exe appz located at program files \ bitdefender directory... search for it its in the default directory Use BD parental control --> applciations --> if it is unshaded just click enabled it and all its functions ..... AV, Aspam, Firewall etc.... clickc apply

wen u cleaned the other existing have u checked it?

go to win.ini and check for win.ini key named internal if it is present u have to delete everything on it prior to BD IS installations the date shuold be actual date "2007"

check if there are existing directories Common files\softwin and Program files \Softwin --> all should be deleted.

Check reg keys --> click regedit
HKLM\Software \softwin --> delete
HKCU\Software\softwin delete
HKEY Users\.DEfault\Software\SETID --> deleted

these should all be deleted for you to do clean install of BDIS

mscountry... it is really strange indeed..... but please do counter check everything before doing a clean install

sorry if its hard to understand those instructions....

but within those instructions are embedded cleaners you have to click that. and i even counter check if it is totally cleaned by checking the directories and registry keys if its still present or not .

if you have previous existing keys and files not totally deleted prior to clean install of Bd.. its one problem and you will get a nag scrren or expired license later. so be careful and do a total cleaning of your previously existing BD

patch 1 you expect an error here --> just click ok
patch 2 fix the patch 1 and activate it
patch 3 finalize registration and patch info in registries and directories

Killroy, I am glad that this worked for you, yes i am on windows xp sp2 as well. Made sure all was deleted in reg and all file in common and program files. But after updating it will not scan it says expired????

That is what I have told killroy, after all is done and you either turn of pc or restart it it will no longer let u scan. Has anyone found something that will work as of yet????

the only solution i have found is to switch to a different Security Suite, i have now got kaspersky but nothing compares to bitdefender really, Norton 360 kept turning off auto protect so thats shit, AVG was a bit shit. so if u can get it working stick with bitdefender!

i think i know what's the problem here... if u have previous version of BDIS installer just uninstall your old previous unfunctional BDIS and reinstall it and use the latest patch. don't use the one (installer) from the server which was modified already. I gues that will work.

But if u plan to use the installer from the server, do not download and install product update which is about 4-5MB, this will replace most of your BD files and diasble it but if its about ~600KB thats ok.... check to make sure it doesnt replace your BDMcon.exe

then when successful block bdptch.exe -->this checks every day or 2 to modify files and rest your trial patch.

hope this help and lets w8 for the fix patch for product updates.

PROBLEM

What I did :
Installed following the instructions provided in the patch ,
I didn't update , because size was 12 mb
I blocked bdptch.exe from Parental Control of BD
I updated bitdefender after blocking btptch.exe
Automatic Update option was checked

Result :
For 1 or 2 days I could use on demand scan , but today I noticed that it wasn't working ...
I checked everything automatic update was checked and bdptch.exe was blocked

Fuck KASPERSKY & NORTON, its a resource HOG, it slows my interenet connection to shit and NOD32 sucks.

They are sick of WAREZ people so they are patching BITDEFENDER like no tomorrow.

I bought it man, I said *** it. Get the cheap one ANTIVIRUS STANDARD 10 is only $40 USD for 2 PC's for 2 years.

Unless you need a firewall and use OUTLOOK, dont waste money on PLUS version because thats all it does, is give you a firewall and secure your OUTLOOK, which I don't use and I have a way better firewall program then Bitdefenders. Get the STANDARD edition.

Plus what people also don't realize is, if you get 2 keys, its like windows man, if you give out your keys and they find it suspicious they will blacklist them.

I have 3 computers. 2 DESKTOPS and 1 Laptop, and I use my 2 keys on 3 PCS.
The desktops SHARE 1 key and my laptop has the other key. 2 years of updates and for free. Works great man, and so good on resources, plus it catches everything.

My account expires on Feb 5th, 2009, so I'm good to go until then. I'll probably renew cuz I will get a discount, and they will probably have an even better version by then. BD 11 or BD 12.

So man, trust me buy it !!! This product is well worth it. Its only $40 bucks USD.

Unless you need that fancy firewall shit and e-mail crap for OUTLOOK express, which is just a waste of money.

Use another firewall program (ZoneAlarm FREE) and just get standard version of Bitdefender, your computer will be HELLA protected and RESOURCE usage is low.

hail killroy1. do u try this BitDefender Products Patch v1.3? u know when downloading update fore the first time, there is about 12mb downloaded and then everything goes wrong. patch v1.2 does not work 'cause of this 12mb s.h.i.t. update.
does v1.3 works fine with this new update?

just follow it.

to stop bdptch.exe in IS once patch. just block bdptch.exe using parental control --> application --> add bdptch.exe located in your softwin directory.. search for it, its there
or you can rename bdptch.exe located in your softwin directory to any file u like (bdpcth.exe.bak)

- nag screen remove ok
- if you have previous bdis disable you have the option not to re install it, jusst run the patch included instructions there starting with (*) sign. or better read steps there. your choice.

Anyway I did a system restore before the BD was installed. Now I want to start from beginning. As I did not try the patches before I dont have any experience with it. So please help me with some of the steps.

According to instruction:
1st I install it in default directory (no restart!!) and then uninstall and then restart.
Then clean previous info here.!! (how?)
Off internet.Install again as trial(like the 1st time?). Restart
On Internet. Update. Ok to error. Off Internet.
Block bdptch.exe (now I should mention that I could not find this file in BD default dir - though I found bdptch.bdx - 215 kb) What to do?

ok natsumeshin.. here is what you do...

From scratch..
"clean previous info here". just click the "here" its an embedded cleaner.
install bitdefender as trial
after install restart pc when prompted
update your files (AV sig and product), after updates you will received an error as expected "setloadorder.exe" just click ok. then BD will prompt you to restart. Restart.
turn off internet connection.
block bdptch.exe if using IS in parental control--> application from running located at softwin directory or better rename bdptch.exe to bdptch.bak or whatever name u like.
open the patch v1.3 , scroll down. you will see an asterisk sign. follow instructions thereafter.

I tried to update several times, but always update error (after 5 to 6 minutes later I start update).
It shows plugins/cevakrnl.rvd in upper bar 296 kb and in lower total update bar 3137 kb and here percentage of the total update goes crazy - it even showed something like 132435%. After some time it says update error.
But I dont think in this 5 to 7 minutes it updates any relevant file and I saw the info above that it only talks about "last checked" time but "Last updated" shows "never".
Any suggestions?

Exactly the same prob here NatsumeShin, thought it was my internet connection before.

when updating make sure you complete the first update process before patching. that is uncontrollable if the upgrade server is in traffic or busy. you could expect incomplete update. i have also experienced that. so change update servers. check your BD setting for primary location and just add 1 or 2 at the end of "upgrade". Update again.
if no error is loaded or no bdptch.exe is present then good for you. just use patch.

I tried with upgrade1, 2 but the same thing. Next I turned the silent update off and then it showed 2 types available - signature update and product update. I figured out it was sig update file where the problem was repeating, so I only selected product update and it was able to finish update and then I had to restart.

But no "setloadorder.exe" problem and I did not find any "bdptch.exe" at "Softwin\BitDefender10" directory. This file was not in the details list of either sig upt or product update.

So is it good enough to start the patching now?

with regards to your issues regarding product updates on your bd installer dated 4/18/2007 from server.
it works fine here.
- product and sig updates ok
-parental reporting error fix and working; it does not report expired
- 2 years reported update ok
- no nag screen
-no need to block latest bdptch.exe. patch works fine.

Even I dont any receive any data by using any software and still I see use of my full bandwidth to receive data in the BD traffic section(not only I can hardly use internet). Then I really observed carefully in the activity section but neither it was showing the culprit nor the receipt of the datas. I am rather angry to this phenomenon.

Please tell me if you understand anything. I suspect it may be spyware which BD couldnt identify or it can be someone from BD's whitelist - can be XP itself updating. I though t I should set the firewall option at the "ask" level and reset profile.

speaking of low bandwith, it might be one factor. did u checked your firewall settings from BD, windows Xp updater?

Hi, got Bitdefender IS working eventually, just one problem! Even if you cancel the "product" update when it appears, BitDefender still appears to download it & shows your key as invalid & disables itself. Running the patch again cures this & all I have to do then is manually restart the firewall - is there anyway of blocking the product updates entirely & just accepting the virus signatures? Also, what is the purpose of blocking the bdpatch.exe??

looks like they have killed the patch once again, updates don't work for as of 25/6 after i restarted my PC.

Not even applying the patch again brings the thing back to life.
