"Motherboard monitor" does not necessarily work on all mobos. The temp sensor MUST use specific resources.
For most known branded mobos the utility is usually furnished on the driver CD itself.

It does much more than Motherboard monitor ever did...MM is a long dead program anyway. Wolfram Podien has been steadily making this one better and better for years. It still actually cools down the CPU besides monitoring ALL the hardware temps and speeds, plus allowing for on-the-fly FSB control. Learn about it:
