A week later than the 'original' rumor, Electronic Arts has released the demo version of the third installment in the tiberium-flavored strategy C&C series (do remember C&C includes games like Red Alert and Generals). One tutorial mission, two single-player missions featuring live action video sequences, one skirmish map with three different difficulty settings, and one trailer featuring Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, Michael Ironside.

i think they should have made red alert 3 though... it would of been nice to see the playability of red alert 2: yr with updated engine + gfx with the modability of red alert 2 aswell. well anyway ive got all of the C&C games ranging from n64, playstation to the pc (got all of the single dvd cases then i got the first decade dvd for all the expansions etc) and i gotta say C&C still rocks after all these years of playing!!

Dune has absolutely nothing to do with C&C, apart from providing some inspiration for the Command and Conquer engine that would later be used. Dune was based on the book by Frank Herbert, which was later made into a movie (featuring Sting!) and Westwood Studios subsequently went on to make another few Dune sequels (Dune 2, Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune). They both take place in 2 different universes. Hope that I've now cleared that up. Long live C&C!

Oh, and lets just forget about Generals...that was just one big pile of, well, crap.
generals was ok it was just too slow paced, it also had a more real feel than any other C&C game (no tiberium lol)
