PowerDVD is FAR better that WinDVD... At least as far as I'm concerned. Is this post the Deluxe or the Standard version?

What makes this better than winDVD7 in terms of features?
I ask so that I know if its worth the download.

WOW! A new version....its been awhile since PowerDVD has been upgraded.  Cant wait to find a kgen or activation method.  I looked around a bit. Nothing out there yet...but I'm sure soon there will be a fix.  And yes..PowerDVD is much better than WinDVD. At least for me. I've used both.

with this version 7.0 comes RichVideo.exe to run in background... apparently for editing... not known if is necessary :s

Hmm when I start Powerdvd and click on Configuration and then on the Interactual tab, PowerDVD crashes every time.

Oh Man! PowerDVD v7.0 already? I just got PowerDVD v6.0 tweaked the way I like it not that long ago. I got the audio settings sounding so sweet and then this LOL :---) Man I bet those developers are awake 24-7 drinking gallons of coffee and eating minithins like mad! Cause you get something and then "POW" there is a new version out in like a couple of weeks. How can any1 stay ahead? :-) Hey dont' get me wrong I am not complaining I just got so much junk on my external drive its' a real mess. Some software I have not even messed with yet and when I get around to messing with something I already got and there is already something else out to replace it. But I bet I am not alone there :-) LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL and so the DownLoad battle continues! I wonder who will win us getting what is available for now or when we get it DownLoaded and checked out there is a new version of it. Sure looks like we are gonna lose every time. LOL

honestly...i personally don use ne dvd player software. i jus use Windows Media Player with the nVIDIA PureVideo Decoder for my gpu. it gives a lot better video quality. along with dfx i believe its the best dvd player. n it also uses minimum resources

Ok,maruf_65 your method is even worse.Everything is same like the "method 1" by other fella and yours dont have interactual and few other things plus when u check the activate box theres no reg info for addon packs..... these are all the same files extracted from powerdvd 6 'enhanched?' versions floating on the net.Common guys! be real! dont try your limited methods copied from older versions.leave for some real guys to do this.....

I think that the picture of the new PowerDVD with the new technology Adaptive CyberLink Eagle Vision 2 is awesome but the sound sucks. I think the sound of the WinDVD 7 is much more better than the sound of PowerDVD 7

It does crash and if Deacon posted the full info that I put on the Torrent site that he grabbed that from you could all read it and what causes crasha nd Dr Watson to run, I should know as I uploaded it and thats the text from my .NFO he has copied and posted here.

It the same file on main page here with the reg info from powerdvd6 from one of guys comments above, I did tell anyone who was grabbing it it was buggy and crap, but good to see only.

It the far right hand tab, click on it and see it crash and Dr Watson load up, its Interactive something or other

if you had a previously release of Power DVD registred and you're installing this version you should be prompted to keep the personal data and settings. choose yes and the licence should be kept also ;) have fun. worked just fine for me.

The ENGINE release is NOT properly patched.  It appears to work fine but if you move the system clock on your computer more than one month on then the audio stops working.  crap release.

My impressions of V7 so far isn't good.  Not as many features working (so far) as v6.  Locks upo when trying to play avi files (xvid & 3ivx)

Stick with v6 until a later release comes out

First i want to know if the solution from betamaster is resolving the crashing from Interactual feature ??? Another thing is the total mess of Dr.DivX 1.6 codec when i install the PDVD 7.C'mon guyzz no one had a REAL RETAIL Version ??? Still using PDVD 6 untill someone will give a REAL Retail version ! :D

OOps..Regarding "advanced" buttons...they are at the bottom of the screen but only the top edge of them is visible. I can still open them though. A graphics problem maybe?

Just a note.  The PwrDVD info posted by UBsoftware....supposed to be the enhanced version etc.  Why is the setup.exe file dated 12/21/2000, the PowerDVD.sim dated 11/21/2004, ikernel.exe 7/25/2002 etc. If you use it, in the about box it says PowerDVD version 6.22. With betamasters PowerDVD.sim it shows version 7. Hmmmm...interesting...

Could we just erase all the comments up to this point and just post some accurate info????? I'm so confused now I dont know what I'm doing..lol...But at least I have a fully working PowerDVD7 Deluxe, works great, has all the add-ons, plays all file types and except for the interactual thingy not working yet because Cyberlink hasent released it completely yet, it works just great :)

Thanks asdf...I found OLEStateCheck.exe and OLESubmission.exe run when the registration box pops up. I also will try closing the reg box with the X instead of "remind me later"  *hugs*

aekara..I've uninstalled and reinstalled PowerDVD several times...havent had any problems...I use your uninstaller pro to remove the junk that the normal uninstaller leaves behind. Check the program directory...if you've added files to the directorys they may still remain after an uninstall because they were not part of the original install.  Hope this is of some help. :) tatianna

divx files work fine for me. but xvid files are causing problems and the player just hangs on a black screen...

ah well, i only really gonna use it for dvd's. will use windvd for xvid's

Thanks naynasu, you are indeed "De Man". Installed this as per your instructions and it works fine. After all the nonsense and false promises its great to get a working solution.

Yes both files are the same. You just need one of them and follow the instructions in the readme file.

1. Extract the files in the Cyberlink PDVD7 Installer Program to C:Program FilesPDVD7(create the folder PDVD7 and do not have PDVD7 installed at this point).

2. Run PDVD7Patch.exe( pass=nayansu) It begins installing PDVD7.

3. Run CLHP&OtherFeaturesActivator.exe(pass=nayansu)

There are steps to take in between running the 3 patches listed above but there are outlined in the readme file.

Just a comment for those having trouble with playing Xvid's. Several people have stated that the problem was resolved when they removed the ffdshow codec. (I removed it a long time ago...it caused me a lot of video problems) Anyways, just be aware that the ffdshow codec is installed if you have installed Elby products like CloneDVD on your machine. If you install ffdshow as a standalone, you have a start-up link with program variables you can adjust, modigy etc. However other vendors install just the ffdshow codec when you install their programs which in most cases just adds the codec(most likely.ax) into your Sys32 directory without you even being aware of it.  Just some info......."hugs" tatianna

Is there any way to stop the annoying toolbar in full screen from poping-out with every single mouse move? Previous versions of powerdvd had an option to at least completely disable it from full screen display but now this option is gone. It's very annonying to me as it keeps showing up all the time. Is there any registry modification for that please?

The link above this post works, posted by Helloall, but make sure you make the PowerDVD.sim NOT "read only". When you extract it is set as read only and when you enter the various keys, they can't update the file, so you keep getting the expired trial screen. By making it not read only, it works fine.
