This download provides the DirectX end-user multi-languaged redistributable that developers can include with their product. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. For full details please review the DirectX SDK EULA.txt and DirectX Redist.txt files located in the license directory. This package is localized into Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Swedish, and English.
If you had previously downloaded the April SDK and were using XACT, you should download this new version. The most up-to-date version of XACT is Windows version 9.18.944.0. This DirectX SDK release contains updates to tools, utilities, samples, documentation, and runtime debug files for x64 and x86 platforms.

It doesnt install over the higher versuion , it will run side by side ,if your running Vista ,your going to be playing DX9 games on it ,and most wont work unless DX9 is installed .

REVHE4D is absolutely right. There are few games supporting DiretX 10, not even mention Fully support Direct 10. Some of my friends meet this problem already and turn back to XP.

I can confirm that this is a genuine release as I downloaded directly from the Microsoft site and it does ask for validation. (Don't follow the link to the Feb update - unless of course that is what you want!).
Interestingly, it seems to do absolutely nothing to an XP machine which already has the the Feb update.

If your system got Fu^cked up by RogueRemover, here is what i did to fix it, I ended up hiding my partition with all my important stuff on it (Using Hirens Boot CD 8.8 and Paragon Partition Manager) , then remove assigned drive letter, and then did a full destroy and recover to Factory Specs., then after everything was back, i used Paragon Partition Manager again to assign drive letter then unhide my Valuable partition.
DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE, DO NOT INSTALL RogueRemover,
it damages your boot sector and that will make it impossible to recover unless you do the steps that i mentioned here.
