Diskeeper is a disk defragmenter for Microsoft Windows. Diskeeper 2007 represents a quantum leap in system performance, enabling you to run your computer at the height of its potential, 100% of the time, and for the life of your systems.

The main features of Diskeeper 2007 (now compatible with Vista) include:

-- InvisiTasking, which is coined from "invisible" and "multitasking" and is a technology which allows any system maintenance task to run invisibly in the background.
-- New real-time defragmentation that automatically and transparently handles fragmentation as it occurs providing maximum system performance at all times.
-- I-FAAST™ 2.0 (Intelligent File Access Acceleration Sequencing Technology) which dramatically increases file access by up to 80% above and beyond the improvement of defragmentation alone.
-- Terabyte Volume Engine™ 2.0 - Powerful defragmentation for high capacity & high traffic servers with disk volumes containing hundreds of thousands to millions of files (e.g. NAS, RAID, and SAN). Also allows unobtrusive, thorough free space consolidation on busy 24/7 servers.
-- Automatic online directory consolidation that boosts anti-virus scans and back-up speed. Every system will benefit from Diskeeper 2007. A site-wide Diskeeper installation will improve performance and reliability on all systems.

Recently I've been trying out one called MSTDefrag. It has proactive defragging meaning that it monitors for any fragmented files and defrags them usually within ~5 minutes. Seems pretty good so far, although the 2.0 beta doesn't allow you to change strategies.

BeWare !! RogueRemover is a VIRUS !!! by KAVLover on 2007-05-26 21:25:24
If your system got Fu^cked up by RogueRemover, here is what i did to fix it,
I ended up hiding my partition with all my important stuff on it
(Using Hirens Boot CD 9.0 and Paragon Partition Manager) ,
then remove assigned drive letter, and then did a full destroy and
recover to Factory Specs., then after everything was back,
i used Paragon Partition Manager again to assign drive letter
then unhide my Valuable partition.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE, DO NOT INSTALL RogueRemover,

It damages your Master Boot Sector and that will make it impossible to
recover unless you do the steps that i mentioned here.

Stay clear away from this Virus of a Program.

This sounds suspicious.... Plus in Vista, after using Dexters patch I can no longer open gpedit.msc or secpol.msc. I posted a message to this effect in a forum where dexter was posting but he has not replied. I would be very careful with this patch.

Help! Does someone have the full version installer for Enterprise Server? ie NOT a trial installer with license.dal file... I've gotten the trial version "Activated" and has been running fine for about six weeks now. Only annoyance is the "Buy now prompt".

Hoalantim does your post contain the non trial version?

The activation process involves, in part, Diskeeper identifying your PC as unique. To do this it uses various combinations of your computers hardware. They are (in part); your motherboard, your hard drive, and your BIOS. It is possible (though very rare), where that data is insufficient to uniquely ID the computer, that other hardware must be considered. What is used, and in what combination, varies from computer to computer. As stated in the FAQs, no software data or personal data (to identify you) is ever collected form your PC(s). Apart from the obvious and valid privacy considerations, there simply is no technically legitimate reason to do this as it doesn't make "activation" any more secure or reliable. For anyone interested, the FAQ pages provide more data on the entire process.

So, if you change out the hard drive (where your operating system drive is located) you will very likely need to re-activate. If you change the BIOS or the motherboard, you may also have to re-activate. It depends on the number of metrics used and if the hardware replacement is determined to constitute enough of a change that the computer ID needs to be re-figured. This is, again, very similar to Window's design.
