last time i installed this prog with same name it put spyware on my system and Adaware warned me to it second time. Not sure if it is still bundled with scumware like gator

you mean you installed the codec from DivX free?

I think this is the player only (for decoding, viewing DivX movies).

This player still exhibits the annoying divx logo on divx movies (like any other player). Standard divx player does'nt.

This player connects me to an internet page (bypassing my firewall) and I really don't like this kind of capabilities. :-/

Just use K-Lite Codec Pack, it contains the DivX, XVid, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and more...

Or better get the Mega Codec Pack and you will never worry about codecs again.....
