The real kicker wasn't the fact that nodCRAP missed a trojan, it was the fact that 2 of these trojans have been listed in the Kaspersky virus signature database since mid-2006, and that when reporting such missed trojans the nodCRAP team replies in a mostly arrogant manner.
Looking at this thread where a nodCRAP user reported to their tech support that several common trojans ((One of which was found in our test run here at NeoSmart Technologies)) weren't picked up by nodCRAP but were by Kasperksy, the replies by nodCRAP moderators are quite shocking. They start off by claiming that the original poster's title is misleading purposely accusatory (which it isn't, objectively speaking) and this later escalates (when a new poster claims to have a list of 21 trojans nodCRAP failed to detect) into accusations of virus-harvesting and purposely looking for nodCRAP's weaknesses.
What should have been a simple "thank you for your observations and our apologies for the inconvenience" became a highly-ridiculous "nodCRAP can do no wrong" thread. We've been recommending nodCRAP since the start, but to us it is clear that this is where we part paths. If a company makes a mistake an oversight of a single trojan, that we can live with. But when moderators on their forum insist on turning it into a personal attack against anyone that has any issues with nodCRAP, it's sign that something very wrong is underfoot.
So, goodbye nodCRAP, you've served us average throughout the years (as previous threads and articles will testify). But it's time for a new AV that continues to improve and without taking offense to simple mistakes. Unfortunately, pride and failure often to lead to one and the same thing - and if there's a better alternative, we'd be fools not to take it."

Why Kaspersky IS Better Than nodCRAP - Here’s another reason!

"You can’t always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as all the vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they are leaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts stating that in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarely state what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out of nodCRAP; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so.
A computer with nodCRAP and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by several Trojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times you would delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. nodCRAP could not disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty. Couldn’t get rid of the threats! Cmd didn’t help much either – I guess they were stuck in the Recycler or something. Now, what I advised the owner of the affected machine was to run other AV solutions… however, none of the free ones seemed to do better than nodCRAP, fact which was to be expected. Then she asked me what else could she buy, so I advised her to get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The minute it had been installed it asked for an update and a full system scan. It took Kaspersky about 2 hours to scan a 70% full 160GB hard drive, but it found 8 threats and eliminated them all. I then rebooted the machine and scanned the folders where the viruses had been discovered – now it was all clean. So, based on this experience, I would definitely go with Kaspersky, rather than nodCRAP.
To us users, it’s these things that count. It doesn’t matter what tests and magazines say – when you’re facing a threat and your AV doesn’t help you enough, then you deem it useless. Users don't care what other threats it may destroy – they want to get rid of the ones THEY'RE facing! Furthermore, after this happening, I definitely became a Kaspersky fan. I, for one, don’t care how much resource it will eat up – at least I will stay protected. What’s the use of having security software that will not "stress" your machine, if it’s also ineffective against viruses?"

Why do you guys post the usere name and passwords. Do as others do, provide a link/url to get them. This way they do not become blacklisted so fast.
As for the Business Edition, I downloaded it last night and after installing it stated that it is the older version, so I am assuming that their servers have not got a refresh yet.

With KM92 patch above posted,you just have to click on AV icon at the Taskbar, with right mouse button,choose update and naturally you got updates.Easier than this?
It the same as changing the update server manually. It does NOT edit nod32 files, only the register setting.
So this isn't new news.

Use the normal way : Install program then restart PC and then install the patch.
Now connect to net and go to TaskBar.Use right mouse button over AV icon, choose "Update" and that`s it.Updates once a day as usual.

I do not want to frighten nobody, but to use the bringing server updates of KM32 it is
extremely dangerous, since they have their differences when compares with ESET's
legitimate servers.

Now, what I advised the owner of the affected machine was to run other AV solutions… however, none of the free ones seemed to do better than nodCRAP, fact which was to be expected. Then she asked me what else could she buy, so I advised her to get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The minute it had been installed it asked for an update and a full system scan. It took Kaspersky about 2 hours to scan a 70% full 160GB hard drive, but it found 8 threats and eliminated them all. I then rebooted the machine and scanned the folders where the viruses had been discovered – now it was all clean. So, based on this experience, I would definitely go with Kaspersky, rather than nodCRAP.
To us users, it’s these things that count. It doesn’t matter what tests and magazines say – when you’re facing a threat and your AV doesn’t help you enough, then you deem it useless. Users don't care what other threats it may destroy – they want to get rid of the ones THEY'RE facing! Furthermore, after this happening, I definitely became a Kaspersky fan. I, for one, don’t care how much resource it will eat up – at least I will stay protected. What’s the use of having security software that will not "stress" your machine, if it’s also ineffective against viruses?"

The new Fix does exactly the same thing that the older patch, but it's simpler now.
Many people didn't know where to install the older patch and said that it didn't work so I made this Fix because it's simpler. Just open it and press any key. The Fix will become green and the server is added.
No need to restart PC after applied and no need to select the server. Just open the Fix and press any key. When the Fix becomes green, just press any key again and you're done!

"Eset's nodCRAP has long been our favorite anti-virus program at NeoSmart Technologies.
In recent years (mainly from last year though), nodCRAP has fallen WAY BEHIND in the detection rankings, but for the most part had remained a decent choice. Virus.gr has the latest testing results as summed up in this post at CyberNet News. In the latest round of tests (and the one before that, and the one before that) Kaspersky is yet again at the top, with a 99.23% detection rate for the newly-released version 7 and a 99.13% for version 6. But all changed with the release of Kaspersky 7. In a test run, we found 3 different trojans on our machines (for a total of 6 infected files) that nodCRAP hadn't detected (even with heuristics enabled and set to the highest level) which Kaspersky picked up immediately.
The real kicker wasn't the fact that nodCRAP missed a trojan, it was the fact that 2 of these trojans have been listed in the Kaspersky virus signature database since mid-2006, and that when reporting such missed trojans the nodCRAP team replies in a mostly arrogant manner.
Looking at this thread where a nodCRAP user reported to their tech support that several common trojans ((One of which was found in our test run here at NeoSmart Technologies)) weren't picked up by nodCRAP but were by Kasperksy, the replies by nodCRAP moderators are quite shocking. They start off by claiming that the original poster's title is misleading purposely accusatory (which it isn't, objectively speaking) and this later escalates (when a new poster claims to have a list of 21 trojans nodCRAP failed to detect) into accusations of virus-harvesting and purposely looking for nodCRAP's weaknesses.
What should have been a simple "thank you for your observations and our apologies for the inconvenience" became a highly-ridiculous "nodCRAP can do no wrong" thread. We've been recommending nodCRAP since the start, but to us it is clear that this is where we part paths. If a company makes a mistake an oversight of a single trojan, that we can live with. But when moderators on their forum insist on turning it into a personal attack against anyone that has any issues with nodCRAP, it's sign that something very wrong is underfoot.
So, goodbye nodCRAP, you've served us average throughout the years (as previous threads and articles will testify). But it's time for a new AV that continues to improve and without taking offense to simple mistakes. Unfortunately, pride and failure often to lead to one and the same thing - and if there's a better alternative, we'd be fools not to take it."

"You can’t always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as all the vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they are leaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts stating that in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarely state what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out of nodCRAP; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so.
A computer with nodCRAP and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by several Trojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times you would delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. nodCRAP could not disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty. Couldn’t get rid of the threats! Cmd didn’t help much either – I guess they were stuck in the Recycler or something. Nah...Since NOD32 has improved so much I have stopped using Counterspy and super anti spyware alltogether.
What can I tell ya. NOD32 is just that good.
Since it crush the crapware kaspershit(whom I expect to go out of bussiness post hast) I have found that I could reduce sstem bloat by using NOD32 and 2 smaller apps for total protection and peace of mind.
NOD32 is the proven best and apps like counterspy are no longer needed.
To bad to I know the guy personaly that runs sunbelt(their main office is in my home town) I had hoped for it to do more myself.

Virus.gr has the latest testing results as summed up in this post at CyberNet News. In the latest round of tests (and the one before that, and the one before that) Kaspersky is yet again at the top, with a 99.23% detection rate for the newly-released version 7 and a 99.13% for version 6. But all changed with the release of Kaspersky 7. In a test run, we found 3 different trojans on our machines (for a total of 6 infected files) that nodCRAP hadn't detected (even with heuristics enabled and set to the highest level) which Kaspersky picked up immediately.
The real kicker wasn't the fact that nodCRAP missed a trojan, it was the fact that 2 of these trojans have been listed in the Kaspersky virus signature database since mid-2006, and that when reporting such missed trojans the nodCRAP team replies in a mostly arrogant manner.
Looking at this thread where a nodCRAP user reported to their tech support that several common trojans ((One of which was found in our test run here at NeoSmart Technologies)) weren't picked up by nodCRAP but were by Kasperksy, the replies by nodCRAP moderators are quite shocking. They start off by claiming that the original poster's title is misleading purposely accusatory (which it isn't, objectively speaking) and this later escalates (when a new poster claims to have a list of 21 trojans nodCRAP failed to detect) into accusations of virus-harvesting and purposely looking for nodCRAP's weaknesses.
What should have been a simple "thank you for your observations and our apologies for the inconvenience" became a highly-ridiculous "nodCRAP can do no wrong" thread. We've been recommending nodCRAP since the start, but to us it is clear that this is where we part paths. If a company makes a mistake an oversight of a single trojan, that we can live with. But when moderators on their forum insist on turning it into a personal attack against anyone that has any issues with nodCRAP, it's sign that something very wrong is underfoot.
So, goodbye nodCRAP, you've served us average throughout the years (as previous threads and articles will testify). But it's time for a new AV that continues to improve and without taking offense to simple mistakes. Unfortunately, pride and failure often to lead to one and the same thing - and if there's a better alternative, we'd be fools not to take it."

I dont know that much about everything u guys are talking about. but i could use some help please. i downloaded a free 30 day trial version from eset homepage. then i used the hompage www.nod321.com and typed in one of the password and user names. everything is working. NOD says that i have updated version 2761 from todays date. BUT. my question is; does it make any differens if i have nod32 antivirus 3.0.621 or 3.0.566.0?? (the last mentioned one is the one i downloaded from their homepage last month)

after half an hour a progress started called EKRN.EXE and made 100% usage on my quadcore.
when i plug off my internet the process kills itself.

i installed version 3 antivirus software which had definition file 2740 once installed,i ran the km92 fix,then did an update which all went fine and updated to defininition file 2765 which is current as of today,BUT will the update file 2765 contain the files i will be missing from 2740 to 2764?

Caras, o fix do km92 não está funcionando. Ele está off. Não é possível atualizar o Eset Smart Security (ou o Eset NOD). Testei outros métodos também, mas nenhum funciona mais. Parece que a ESET conseguiu uma maneira de impedir que os softwares seja utilizados sem ter que "pagar" $$$$. Bem, vamos ficar no aguardo... quem sabe alguém consegue uma alternativa eficiente, semelhante ao antigo FIX da NSANE. Aquele era bom, funciona 100% na versão 2.xx. Espero que a NSANE fabrique um novo FIX para a versão 3.xx

OK JOFRE, parece que vc entende bem das coisas... Mas só parece. As aparências enganam.
O fato é que o FIX do KM92 não funciona no WINDOWS VISTA 64 BITS. Após se executar o programa (FIX), dá erro. Portanto, o KM92 tem que desenvolver também FIX para Windows 64 bits e que seja compatível com o ESET 64 bits. Sendo assim, o FIX continua a não funcionar. SOCORRO NSANE!!!!!!!!

Não tou com tempo para resolver esse problema agora, mas talvez ajude inserir o servidor manualmente.
Abra o ESET (SS ou AV) e prima F5.
Quando abrir a janela com as opções seleccione 'Update' à esquerda e 'Edit' à direita.
Em 'update servrs:' mete "http://eset.com.sapo.pt/! (sem as aspas)e depois 'Add'.
De seguida clica em OK e verifica se em 'Update server' o servidor está seleccionado.
Depois é só carregar OK e pronto!

"Eset's nodCRAP has long been our favorite anti-virus program at NeoSmart Technologies.
In recent years (mainly from last year though), nodCRAP has fallen WAY BEHIND in the detection rankings, but for the most part had remained a decent choice. Virus.gr has the latest testing results as summed up in this post at CyberNet News. In the latest round of tests (and the one before that, and the one before that) Kaspersky is yet again at the top, with a 99.23% detection rate for the newly-released version 7 and a 99.13% for version 6. But all changed with the release of Kaspersky 7. In a test run, we found 3 different trojans on our machines (for a total of 6 infected files) that nodCRAP hadn't detected (even with heuristics enabled and set to the highest level) which Kaspersky picked up immediately.
The real kicker wasn't the fact that nodCRAP missed a trojan, it was the fact that 2 of these trojans have been listed in the Kaspersky virus signature database since mid-2006, and that when reporting such missed trojans the nodCRAP team replies in a mostly arrogant manner.
Looking at this thread where a nodCRAP user reported to their tech support that several common trojans ((One of which was found in our test run here at NeoSmart Technologies)) weren't picked up by nodCRAP but were by Kasperksy, the replies by nodCRAP moderators are quite shocking. They start off by claiming that the original poster's title is misleading purposely accusatory (which it isn't, objectively speaking) and this later escalates (when a new poster claims to have a list of 21 trojans nodCRAP failed to detect) into accusations of virus-harvesting and purposely looking for nodCRAP's weaknesses.
What should have been a simple "thank you for your observations and our apologies for the inconvenience" became a highly-ridiculous "nodCRAP can do no wrong" thread. We've been recommending nodCRAP since the start, but to us it is clear that this is where we part paths. If a company makes a mistake an oversight of a single trojan, that we can live with. But when moderators on their forum insist on turning it into a personal attack against anyone that has any issues with nodCRAP, it's sign that something very wrong is underfoot.
So, goodbye nodCRAP, you've served us average throughout the years (as previous threads and articles will testify). But it's time for a new AV that continues to improve and without taking offense to simple mistakes. Why Kaspersky IS Better Than nodCRAP - Here’s another reason!

"You can’t always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as all the vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they are leaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts stating that in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarely state what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out of nodCRAP; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so.
A computer with nodCRAP and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by several Trojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times you would delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. nodCRAP could not disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty. Couldn’t get rid of the threats! Cmd didn’t help much either – I guess they were stuck in the Recycler or something. Now, what I advised the owner of the affected machine was to run other AV solutions… however, none of the free ones seemed to do better than nodCRAP, fact which was to be expected. Then she asked me what else could she buy, so I advised her to get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The minute it had been installed it asked for an update and a full system scan. It took Kaspersky about 2 hours to scan a 70% full 160GB hard drive, but it found 8 threats and eliminated them all. I then rebooted the machine and scanned the folders where the viruses had been discovered – now it was all clean. So, based on this experience, I would definitely go with Kaspersky, rather than nodCRAP.
To us users, it’s these things that count. It doesn’t matter what tests and magazines say – when you’re facing a threat and your AV doesn’t help you enough, then you deem it useless. Users don't care what other threats it may destroy – they want to get rid of the ones THEY'RE facing! Furthermore, after this happening, I definitely became a Kaspersky fan. I, for one, don’t care how much resource it will eat up – at least I will stay protected. What’s the use of having security software that will not "stress" your machine, if it’s also ineffective against viruses?"

Devo dizer que o crack realmente não funciona no sistema de 64 bits, mas por enquanto, o ESET está trabalhar corretamente da forma manual. Why Kaspersky IS Better Than nodCRAP - Here’s another reason! By: Alexander Dimitru, Security Expert "You can’t always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as all the vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they are leaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts stating that in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarely state what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out of nodCRAP; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so. A computer with nodCRAP and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by several Trojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times you would delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. nodCRAP could not disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty. Couldn’t get rid of the threats! Cmd didn’t help much either – I guess they were stuck in the Recycler or something. Now, what I advised the owner of the affected machine was to run other AV solutions… however, none of the free ones seemed to do better than nodCRAP, fact which was to be expected. Then she asked me what else could she buy, so I advised her to get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The minute it had been installed it asked for an update and a full system scan. It took Kaspersky about 2 hours to scan a 70% full 160GB hard drive, but it found 8 threats and eliminated them all. I then rebooted the machine and scanned the folders where the viruses had been discovered – now it was all clean. So, based on this experience, I would definitely go with Kaspersky, rather than nodCRAP. To us users, it’s these things that count. It doesn’t matter what tests and magazines say – when you’re facing a threat and your AV doesn’t help you enough, then you deem it useless. Users don't care what other threats it may destroy – they want to get rid of the ones THEY'RE facing! Furthermore, after this happening, I definitely became a Kaspersky fan. eu utilizo Vista 64 bits e Eset 64 bits. Quando executo o Fix criado pelo Temdono, ele roda, mas não detecta o Eset. Ele informa que o Eset tem que ser instalado e abre a página do navegador para se fazer download do Eset.
Talvez baste apenas fazer um apontamento no Fix para que ele reconheça o programa (Eset) no sistema 64 bits.

I use Vista 64-bit and 64-bit Eset. When do the Fix created by Temdono he runs, but not detect the Eset. He informs that the Eset has to be installed and opens the page in the browser to download the Eset.
Maybe enough to make a note in the Fix so that it recognizes the program (Eset) in the 64-bit system.

i was using the 3.0.563 and the antivirus stopped working on both of my computers. upgraded to this version and the fix seemed to work. dont know why antivirus would abruptly stop working. i was using the km92 fix but dont know if that had anything to do with it.

I am in doubt: the KM92 entered in the FIX any virus, or really a ESET already understood the move and made the block since, as previously posted, the FIX the KM92 stopped work and the program began to know that I had 29 days of use .

Don't know if you guys saw this already but Avira is still giving out 6 month licenses to PersonalEdition Premium, so while you waiting on good NOD32 fix you can check it out free for 6 months. Get it from them here(replace space with dot): www1 avira com/en/evaluate/dennis_special php

This works fine and you do not need usename/pass
for update your NOD32 v.3 & ESS!
If you don't can access to NodLogin list, you can register on SSUPDATER and download it!

Me too, the update files stop to 2806 whereas the 2807 is avalable. I hope it's just an connection error to the server and maybe the connection will be retablish in the next few hours ... If not, I think the have probably banned the server ... In this case, can we give us an other patch or an other server update PLEASE KM92, or Nod32King TemDomo or others ...

Yeahh, I have just find an alternative ... Use this method to update your files database :
1 : Display your Eset Smart Security to Toogle Advanced Mode
2 : Go to Setup and click on Enter entire Advanced Setup Tree ...
3 : Go to Update and in the part Update Server click on Edit ...
4 : Type http://u21.eset.com/eset_eval and Add it ... You can also remove the http://u20.eset.com/eset_eval if you want but I thik you have to keep this one ...
5 : Yet validate all and click Ok, and make sure in the Window Update Server that http://u21.eset.com/eset_eval is selected and valid it by clicking Ok. Now go to Update on the Eset Smart Security or Eset NOD32 Antivirus and click on Update Virus Singature Database ... The update should work ...

Search for "Grabador" in "NODLogin list" or "SSUPDATER" web.
1- Install NOD (not trial) using username/pass published.
2- Download "Grabador" last version and see you last informations about this! (NodLogin list or SSUPDATER web)
3- See you instructions!!!
4- This "Grabador" updates your NOD/ESS download the update files to a speciefied folder (tipically: C:/Update).
5- Configure in NOD/ESS your update server options (Read informations before).
6- You can make a scheduled task for regular and by interval update.
7- THIS WORKS LIKE A CHARM!!!
8- TemDono works Ok, but only for TRIAL NOD/ESS, reseting trial days expire!!!

Loaded smart security.
Tried both patches with the same results.
Goes crazy updating and then when almost finishes, comes up with an error and the antivirus portion is DISABLED.

HEY EVERYONE!!
Haven't you people seen the latest Antivirus results from AV-Test.org. ESET is having a bad time there. Its detection rates are too low compared to the past when it stood on level with other rival products. Detection rate was 93.1% (very poor)
The possible causes for this poor performance is the illegal use of programs like Temdono Fix to extend the trial version life forever with free updates. If no one is gonna purchase Eset NOD32 and Smart Security legally, then how can you people expect Eset to get money to improve the detection rates. If they are not getting enough money to pay their employees for adding detection for malware, then it is likely that they are adding detection only for samples sent in by their few registered customers. If you all continue using the Temdono Fix, then possibly by 2015 or so, Eset will have to close its business!
If you want free antivirus protection, go for Avira AntiVir Classic or Avast Home Edition.
Since they have no Adware/spyware detection, you might want to also use AVG Anti-Spyware (with ewido engine) to give yourself additional protection. I’m totally sure that Avira Antivir classic currently can give better malware protection than NOD32 / Smart Security.
Those of you, who have understood my message: Throw the Temdono Fix in the trash and purchase NOD32 / Smart Security or go for freeware!

I'm gonna buy NOD32 v3.0.650 because it's really I wanted first in an antivirus: no slowing my system down and have a great defense, all the way comparable to any other. I can understand their efforts at ESET to deliver the best for as little as $25/year! Good things in life cannot die. I'm helping.
