FlashGet 1.73 formerly JetCar, displays download progress in ranks of glittering dots, but its acceleration is not as pronounced as most. Its inability to start a download without confirmation makes for slow starts. We ran into difficulty locating configuration settings, a problem aggravated by a help system that apparently belongs to an earlier version.

I used Flashget for like 3 years. Was great (even though everytime during installation, it tried installing a spyware.. which my antivirus deleted), but it cannot detect downloads on click from Opera and Firefox.. and is hardly updated with new features. Then few months agod, I switched to 'Internet Download Manager', **[ 9down.com refused this word ]** yeah, detects downloads from EVERY browser, and has minimal interface. I miss few features from Flashget, but IDM clearly is a winner with it's proper detection and updates section.

have you ever heard somethin about plugins? So you would know that is quite easy to use flashget with opera & firefox.... you just need a little plugin for you browser. Exactly! Its so easy if you know how to do it :>

Oh btw, I have tried it's plugin many times in the past. it stopped working at all with Opera 8 itself. I HOPE THEY UPDATE IT!

hey guys, my Mcafee Antivirus Enterprise 8.0i with Anti-spyware addon detects flashget as a spyware n stops installation?

Check your firewall log - Not at first, but after downloading a few files it suddenly DOES start talking to a site in China - 219.238.234.148 ... after every download, and having no reasonable reason to do so. Anypone know what the site with that IP is ?
