What's the catch?  Is it spyware?

No. Back when you had to pay for the full version, the trial came with some banner in the program. But now it's totally free of any costs, ads or spyware.

Wow,I dont believe it.But I must say this:
Flashget is THE BEST Download manager EVER created.It can download from FTP server easily and WITHOUT any problems.No other download manager can beat him in matter of speed and reliability.
All the other download managers are only imitations that ended in failures.
I tried them all and Flashget cannot be imitated.

***Last check by the potent McAfee Antivirus shows that Flashget is full of spyware! If you don't believe try it yourself!

*Flashget is full of SPYWARE

*DAP is full of ADWARE

***I reccomand Internet Download Accelerator

If you dont like them use GetRight!

flashget is really awesome but now im feelin some doubts to whether its clean or not. well im not risking it.

NOD32, Spybot S&D, Adware, EWIDO doesn't detect anything wrong with FlashGet. I bet it's a false warning from Macafee

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 and Outpost 3.51 didn't detected anything. It's clean.

WOW, changed to freeware, been using this piece of software for 3 years at least, NO SPYWARE, at all, used spybot search and destroy, kaspersky adaware, you may get a FALSE POSITIVE from rubbish antivirus and spyware scanners, ignore it.

Norton and McAfee, the worse of virus scanners i have used, when i first got a computer. Tried them, then i got kaspersky. Never looked back.

Ok, try the follwoing with IDM, IDA, Reget,
or any other "paid" version of DL'er out there
and you will realize how light years ahead
FlashGet really is:

1. You have a long list of DL links with Username/Passwords,
so you load em up into Flashget. Everything is going along fine
for awhile when half way through the list the U/P becomes
"INVALID."

2. No problem, find another "working"  U/P,
left-click on one of the files, then hit ctrl-A.
Then right click on any file and click on "properties,"
You will see an empty Property shell,
go down to log-in box; check it and fill in
new log-in/password.

3. Click-Ok;
now all of your files have the NEW U/P!

In my opinion....FlashGet is a very good download manager. I will not say "best" because i have never tried dl managers such as GetRight and stuff.

The download speed is fast too, and i know this cause i live in a country with VERY bad internet. And this program boosts up the speed very much.

I would suggest this software to anyone. Its great!

I like flashget and the patch that changes icons and design of it but i don`t like anymore the logs of download, i mean, zone where is show graphic download list..... has a black and blue design and i don`t like it..... how could i change that?
