Google Talk is a lightweight Jabber-based instant messaging client with voice capabilities. Google Talk is easy and intuitive to use. All you need to make free calls is an Internet connection, a microphone, and a speaker. After you download Google Talk, sign in with your Gmail username and password. Invite your friends to download Google Talk, and once they do, you'll be able to talk or IM with them instantly.Download: Google Talk 1.0.0.98 (1.50 MB)

A new testing version has been released: Version 1.0.0.98

Don't have an Account?
Don't have a Google Account to start using Google Talk? The latest version provides a link to this website where you can sign up and start using Google Talk.

Fade Effect
All right click menus now have a cool fade in effect that doesn't seem to affect system performance at all.

Two New Themes
There are two new themes, based on the style of Orkut (Thanks Origino)

Updated Option
In the options dialogue, there is now a "Show All addrss book contacts". Originally, this said "Show all Gmail Contacts". (Thanks Origino)

Menu Changes
If a friend doesn't have the latest version with the ability to send files, rather than not showing it at all, 'send file' or 'voice clip' etc. is blanked out. Also, send voice mail is now a right click option in Gtalk. (Thanks Trinest)

Your blocked contacts get red color in contact list (vikke)
When you block your contact, it will show it's name in red in your contact list.

Online instead of Available (vikke)
Not a big change, but in the chat history, it says Contact is online instead of Contact is Available.
