With WinDVD 7 Platinum, InterVideo reinforces its commitment to futureproofing its award-winning movie playback software by adding HDTV and Advanced Video Codec (AVC) specification support, also known as H.264 playback support. WinDVD 7 offers digital TV recorded content playback and supports channel navigation for HDTV transport stream recordings. In addition, the latest DVD playback software adopts H.264, the next-generation DVD standard, MPEG-4 Part 10, making the state of the art video more accessible to more viewers.

A universal player, the Platinum version can also be used to playback Real, QuickTime, WMV-HD (Windows® Media Video High Definition) and MPEG-4 video files as well as InterActual-enhanced DVDs. In addition, the new WinDVD 7 will support the upcoming DivX® multimedia technology to deliver high-quality interactive video files. Equipped for UPnP™ playback, WinDVD 7 can be used to play back content and easily allocate media files from other UPnP-licensed devices among CE devices and PCs within a UPnP Home Network.

These customizable controls, and the other dynamic player controls that have been added to WinDVD 7, help users maximize their entertainment experience. In addition to being able to adjust the sound balance of their speakers, they can choose from various viewing options including dock/un-dock, change placements of each sub-panel, or keep the WinDVD 7 viewing window on top of any other window. Also new with WinDVD 7 is the External Subtitle Control which not only checks for subtitles and loads them in the external subtitle file, it lets users adjust the placement, subtitle color and size. This is especially convenient for the new DivX media format for CE devices. Similar to the controls on a standard television set, there are no confusing settings with WinDVD 7.
