6. IE crashed after uploading... Had to re-upload... Upon completion, I got only the download link and said file already uploaded, i.e. no delete link (dunno if *** provides a delete link like rapidshare or other hosters...).
7. I downloaded the file via IDM and successfully uncompressed it... This was important to check whether the file got corrupted because of IE crash... But everything is OK...

Btw I don't think that Gag said that for us... coz we uploaded on non-rapidshare sites! His comments were for "RAPIDSHARE ADDICTS by gag on 2007-10-14 02:50:12"

Remember 1 thing...
The only way to fight against the Gag patch posted on rapidshare is 'Trust'. If people know that some sources are reliable and clean and trusted by Gag (JFE, OLEXIJL USER1 and I), then they would download from these sources only... This was why we needed to maintain live links other than rapidshare so that people could download!

What's the purpose of giving a rapidshare link, when no one actually downloads from that!!! It defies the whole purpose!

But now, if Gag himself decides to stop providig his patches, I think there isn't even a need to keep any link alive - isn't it? Hence, no need for me anymore...

I shall say that some people here have been acting so selfishly; it's like getting a chance and spitting right back on it!... And others would have to pay for the deeds of these suk-ers! Why did you guys have to mirror the patch to rapidshare? For some lame RS points??? And we have been constantly trying to give 9downers the best patch... It looks like all of our efforts are voided! I'm really sorry for the true fans ... Hence maybe an ADIOS from my part too... Been glad to know some of ya...

Try this mate...

Goto program files (e.g. C:\Program files) and delete the Internet Download Manager folder if present (Well that depends where you installed it previously)

Goto C:\Documents and Settings\(your profile)\Application Data\

and delete the IDM folder

Open regedit.exe and goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Internet Download Manager

delete it including all the keys...

Make a search in your registry for: Internet Download Manager
and delete anything it found...

(You may reboot at this time)

---Start---
IMportant : DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET!

Now install the program, but do not click on FINISH at the end.

Goto the folder it installed in (E.g C:\Program files\Internet Download Manager). Note this is the default install...

Put the patch in it and run. When done, CONNECT to the internet and click on the finish dialogue...

---End---

The steps between ---Start--- and ---End--- are explained in the Readme...

Hope it works for you mate...

ALSO DO NOT PUT ANY NAME IN THE REGISTRY.

If it doesn't work, then try the build 6

Then delete folder an any resgisty keys, ie follow steps in previous post after uninstall...

i tried those, delete all traces of IDM then disconnect and install IDM,but i'll try again, now i'm back using build 6.

its confirm when i press the "delete completed files" pop-up appears "this feature is available in registered version only" but the pop-up that say "you only have 8 days ...." is gone i think its beacuse i reformated my HD.

IDM 5.11 build8 Setup from package JFE provided: http://www.mytempdir.com/2047262

Important : DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET!

Now install the program, but do not click on FINISH at the end.

Run patch.exe and replace the IDM files...

When done, CONNECT to the internet and click on the finish dialogue...

You're done!!!

Dude I'm using build 6... No issues till now... Remember that you have to install the setup and patch from the build 6 package itself, and not any other setup...

Install the build 8 again and
Try the file loaded by Olexijl... If it doesn't work, then well have to find other solutions...

Download the IDM package (I believe the link I have loaded is still active... It's Jfe original upload which unfortunately got deleted)

IMP:You have to download and install the patch and the setup from the same package!

Uninstall any previous IDM

Goto program files (e.g. C:\Program files) and delete the Internet Download Manager folder if present (Well that depends where you installed it previously)

Goto C:\Documents and Settings\(your profile)\Application Data\

and delete the IDM folder

I dunno for other versions... try to google for it...
Note this is the default install...

Double click on the pacth to run it... you will see a command screen open and close almost instantly... the patch has run...

When done, CONNECT to the internet and click on the finish dialogue...

Also do not update your IDM... Please reinstall and patch for next versions...

Note:
I tested the from ---Start--- to ---End--- on a machine with a fresh windows install.. It worked without problems...

I was able to clear completed downloads and I set my calendar 1 month in the future... Reload IDM... no expired or number of days left...
Rebooted the machine and still no warnings whatsover...
Download flash movie... again no problems...

I aslo unchecked Launch internet download manager at startup
and run module for click monitoring under downloads > options > General...

This should not have anything to do with registration... just my choice...

Alright...

It's kindda weird it is doing that on a fresh windows... Did you get the errors instantly after the install?

Ok... try this last...

1.extract the SFX...
2.Uninstall...
3.Delete keys a per instructions...
4.Reboot
5.Disconnect from internet
6.Start the installation...
7.When it's is almost finished, do not click on the finish on the last screen.
8.Goto the programfiles > internet download manager folder
9.Delete IDMan.exe manually
10.Copy the IDMan.exe from the extracted SFX and paste it in the Internet download manager folder...
11.Import registry entries from _.reg.
12.Connect to internet...
13.Open IE..
14.When your home page is loaded... close it..
15.Click on finish...
16.IE will popup again.. close it fast before it connects to the site...
17.Close IDM and reboot.
18.Check if you still getting the errors.

It could be that the SFX did not overwrite the IDMan.exe in your case... Could not reproduce the errors though... I am just assuming...

If still no luck... Then I suggest you use some other patch man...

Btw my IDM is still working... No number of day and stuff... I dunno..
