Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta 1 for Windows XP
Posted by Stanley 1697 Day ago, There are 41 comments, 186436 views
An interesting and fresh feature in Internet Explorer 7 (Beta). “Phishing” has become one of the top problems in our internet lives, just like viruses, trojans and most of all spyware. We, users, mainly find “Phishing” in our emails, where spammers take advantage in acquiring our personal details and login details of popular websites. Microsoft made it a priority to help solve this problem by including this element in IE 7 (Beta).Download : IE 7 beta 1

Re: Download :Internet Explorer 7 beta 1 by Creemoreguy on 2005-07-28 11:40:22
No thanks.  MS is 5 years too late with their update.
I'll stick with a real Browser.  :)

This file is unavailable. This could be for several reasons - the file may have violated our terms and conditions, the file could have expired, or you may have entered an invalid URL.

Just like the progie, the D/L Link is DEAD!!  :)

I've tried the beta since I'm about to reformat my drive anyways - I do it every 6 months :)

Issues -
Favorites drop down list has issues when going to 2nd column - sometimes it shows - sometimes it shows with no favorites in it :)

Still can't easily add buttons to the toolbar for favorites - e.g 9down.com since there are some I go to every day.  Good news, the custom buttons I created for IE6 worked in IE7 for the most part.  Sad you can do this with competitors OLDER browsers.

Tabs unreliable - sometimes they close on their own.

The autosizer I installed fo IE6 so any time I open an IE session it is full sized doesn't work with IE7 - too bad that feature wasn't built right into IE!

What do you expect from a Beta from Microslop????

Play around with IE7 some more and see what other garbage you discover.  :)
Re: Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta 1 for Windows XP by wolfman_oz on 2005-07-28 16:07:20
Only installs on a genuine copy of XP... and we ALL have one of those don't we. Thx Micr$oft lmao !
RE : by Creemoreguy on 2005-07-28 18:54:11
Sure, we all have genuine copies of all MS warez.  We got them right from here!! :)

Re: Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta 1 for Windows XP by all_your_base on 2005-07-28 17:21:57
why do you need sp2 installed
RE : by Creemoreguy on 2005-07-28 18:56:53
'Cause SP2 has the added bugs, omitted from the original release. :)

This program is suck, don't download! cannot work for mine.
RE : by Creemoreguy on 2005-07-28 19:00:11
Did you really think it would work?  Of course not!

Re: Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta 1 for Windows XP by cousinkix1953 on 2005-07-28 18:54:48
Don't even bother with this 10 MB download.  You'll wind up at the Windows Genuine Advantage site and to Hell from there.  Wait for the complete IE-7 to appear later.

Micro$oft would rather screw their paying customers just to stop one thief from using bootleg software.  A fool believes that only the pirates are affected by the windows genuine avantage program.  How much will they give me for an original Micro$oft issue XP professional CD rom, factory manual and the blue retail box?

RE : by Creemoreguy on 2005-07-28 19:06:55
You can disable the WGA in Tools, then MS won't know any better...not that it does, anyway!

Microslop is crying that they're losing money (which they need like a hole in the head) from all the pir8 copies of Windozz, yet they're willing to give a Free? copy of XP if you tell them nicely and are willing to turn in your "non-original" CD.

Yea, right!!

More IE7 suckiness by boe on 2005-07-29 09:18:05

Other issues I've found with IE7 beta.  I know it is a beta but it really doesn't work well at all.

When you open a second tab/viewer it goes to a blank page.  Most people I know have a news page as their home page -e.g. cnn, yahoo, msn.  When opening up a second screen it is almost always to check prices or research - e.g. shopping.yahoo.com or google advanced search.    It would be nice if you could make a second tab always go to some default other than your home page.

I like my URL to be below all the other buttons but it is at the top and I can't find a way to move it as you would in IE6.

With the amount of times people have asked - you'd think auto maximize would be built in by now!

Often pages/tabs get stuck - closing the tab/viewer for that page is the only way out.

Since you have a tabbed browser - why not give an option to make one browser open only.

If the tabs/viewers worked well I could accept the lack of control/options but this doesn't do ANYTHING well - not ready for beta1 in my opinion.

RE : by wolfman_oz on 2005-07-29 10:53:34
Well surprise surprise..another MS product that blows... after all the hassles downloading it's prolly not worth the effort to install it.
There's plenty of other browsers for FREE that don't require all M$ validation BS ! And they're better featured as well !

how to make IE7 working on foreign languages: extract the exe with winrar or something like that into a folder make a backup of the update.inf in the update-folderon the desktop edit the original file with the editor and change "LangTypeValue = 0x09" to "LangTypeValue = 0x07" start update.exe change NOW the edited file with the backup on the desktop (if you do not so, you'll get an error)
