The only reason Microsoft released another version is because Mozilla FireFox had Microsoft Sweatin Bullets! So microsoft had to think of something to try and get its' previous users back to IE! Hey I know lets make a knock off of FireFox and ad tabbed browsing to our IE that'll bring em back :-) I am done with Microsoft crap! I am on the Mozilla train and I am not getting off!!!!

Ive used IE And FireFox I always go back to IE its more convient and you have to DL less Plugins Ive got both IE6 And 7 the only thing about 7 I dont like is it doesnt import links from IE6 that the only thing about FF i do like is that it will import links
FF has had way to many holes although they do get patched faster than IEs usallly in just a few days IE can take Months to fix holes but they dont have as many

okay folks...this seems to be a never ending war. In my opinion...Firefox and Opera kill Internet Explerer. But there are a few (and only a few) pages that don't work in Firefox and Opera, that do work in IE7. Hopefully that will change soon. Basically...Windows comes with IE7 anyways...might as well have the newest version. And like I said...it's good to keep around for those pages that don't work with Firefox and Opera. (those few pages) Just a thought...later all!

Hi ppl, I have very bad experience with IE 7. I installed the Beta version in January 2006, which was unable to browse my broadband service provider site. It took 2 weeks to find the uninstall method on the web. Somehow I did it but then old IE 6 started giving problem with the same site. It shows that "Error on Webpage", which is not true. now I cannot login to the website to view my acc details. Sadly the Site only supports IE.
IE 7 is a good browser but things like tabbed browsing and other features included after almost 10 years. Still it is a memory hog. The security of the browser has always been a concern when it comes to IE. The speed of browsing is low. On Dial Up connection in most of the countries, it is a nightmare to use more than 2 IE windows at a time. Browsing seems to frozen. The only thing is that almost all sites are optimised for IE. That is the good part else. It has always given bad experience.
It is such a good product but Microsoft doing nothing new in it. With IE 7 there is some improvement but not upto the minimum mark too. They have long way to go. Now a days browsers are becoming single programme with multi task abilities, where IE will stand in this race is a million dollar question.
Though IE lovers say that it is the best, it is their own opinion. I am using Opera for last 7 years. Mozilla can be seen as good alternative too.

I've been using Opera for a long time now, and one of its major benefits is speed. Firefox may be way more advanced than IE, but it still can't beat Opera for speed, and though IE beats Firefox in this aspect that's just because there're so little features in IE that they don't take much time to load. And the MSN Toolbar with tabs is really slow and not very user-friendly - I turned it off the day it was downloaded. Of course, that's not to say that Opera is flawless - one of its major irks is the occasional memory leak upon quitting and the high CPU consumption.

If you have a problem like I did with faxcool release {thanks anyway mate} I installed it and then I couldn't get the screen up so what I did was install it and then re booted to a blank screen then I alt cnt del to bring up task manager and added new task select browse find the file normaliz.dll {you need to un-rar before install} then copied the file to win/sys/32 and reboot now it works sweet hope it help[s {sorry carpenter not computer dude} hope it helps PEACE.

Firefox has been HACKED for a long time now. I don't see any difference in speed between FF and IE6. You have to load up all your plugins in ff and they just slows it down more. So far IE7 has my vote. Anyway you should have a good AV and FW no matter what browser you chose. But if you have a system thats worth more then $10 don't risk using kaspersky or zone alarm or especialy anything that says Norton on it.

To Mr Fartyants , I would say it's equal in speed to FF Jonny , but maybe , just maybe a tiny bit slower. Security wise i haven't got a clue.
I could post a link to a couple of sites that I know are packed full of exploit viruses but I know theres people in here daft enough to click on the link no matter how much I warn them not to and if I.E.7 is anywhere near as unsafe as I.E.6 these sites will FUBAR their computer.
I'm not that irresponsible :-)
I'll just wait and see what other people have to say about the exploit issue.

This is the right way to install IE7:
1. Go to Update folder 2. double click on idndl.exe, then nsldl.exe and then xmllitesetup.exe 3. double click on update.exe

Been running IE7 since the final hit and it seems fine. No surprise about the security flaw though, everyone should expect more to be found. If you guys think that one little security hole is bad wait till the rest start popping up. But firefox and opera have security holes as well. Just use the browser you like to use, I prefer to stick with IE7, using muliple browsers seems to junk up the system to much.
Firefox is nice! Opera is nice!
But I will stick with IE7 sice I am a MS partner and a beta tester.
So far folks Vista is looking kinda raw. They really need to buck up on the driver issues real fast if they still expect a January release.

In regards to the people who are having problems with IE7. I installed IE7 over a fresh install of XP Pro. I've done this on 2 machines so far. So far after what...3 or 4 days of running pretty much none stop, we've had no problems. People having problems probably had a glitch somewhere before that was set off by IE7. Possibly a clean install just before upgrade seems to make for a smoother transition.'
Remember with an upgrade(somewhat) or this type, everyone should remember to backup everything off the computer before installing, just to be safe.

The US Government isn't using IE 7 yet. I tried it on a computer running some gov apps and it broke them. It did uninstall cleanly and MS has a remover if the backup folder got deleted. If you work for a company that uses special programs then I suggest an indepth test of this product.

All the links to rapidshare are dead. My IDM 505 changed them to Htm files. I'm unable to open any file you guys shared. Or at least, I do not have the right key for my XP SP2 to run the update tool as you guys told. :((

Thank You All I have read with delite the topics above. I have to date been unable to install IE7 as a 404 error is about with respect to the above. would like to find server2003 x64 RC, RCa or the like. I'll even pay for a damn copy, though I DO NOT need any user lic. The only thing I'am after is the ability to run both 32&64 bit apps w/same OS in either a raid or mirrior array then lenix on top of it all. Also not really sure if I have anything here I can share w/anybody in return! thanks Mr. J. Duck

Internet Explorer 7 is much faster than the Modzilla I had installed previously + Internet Explorer 6
