Internet Explorer 8 takes the Web experience beyond the page and introduces a new way to seamlessly experience the power of the Web whether you are a Web developer writing to standards, or an end user discovering a new online service. This beta release is available to everyone, but is primarily for Web developers and designers to test the new tools, layout engine, and programming enhancements.

fails to work on my vista system...
installed it twice and did several reboots but still shows version 7.0

Very slow on vista service pack 1 ,went back to ie7

Working Perfectly On Vista Ultimate,
ie7pro is also working with this version for me.

Above n00b does not like IE and likes to be a leet kiddie using FF, then simply do not use this and dont waste time commenting.
But if this n00b actually knew WTF he was talking aobut he woulld know its different and its only 1st Beta.

Working fine on my "Vista Business". But its very slow!!! Lot of new features are added (Mostly branding Microsoft Products and Social Networking Services)
Though it has been made to compete with Opera's Browser Standards, still it will take years to fight with Opera.
I don't hate IE but OPERA ROCKS !!!

Working fine on my "Vista Business". But its very slow!!! Lot of new features are added (Mostly branding Microsoft Products and Social Networking Services)
Though it has been made to compete with Opera's Browser Standards, still it will take years to fight with Opera.

I posted this yesterday, it was my first post on this site and they stole it, changed the name to " imsoparanoid ". its not fair. i will never post again anything.
actually, i posted this. didn't know it would take so long to show up. of course an admin edited it. maybe you posted the same story and they just merged the 2 and gave credit to the first poster ...

Installed fine on Vista x86.
New features are nice, browsing is so-so. Even Youtube pages aren't displayed correctly.
Click "Emulate IE7" on the top right corner (beside the home page button) to keep the features but stick to the IE7 faster browsing.
Don't forget it's the Beta 1.

working fine in xp.
try to connect to any https site and click on ssl certificate details, and you will see it isn't so fine as it could be :)

Very heavy in Win Xp.. Not So smooth..

Aha, MS did a quick public release after apple did come to ms os with safari. hmm for those who likes the good old ms windows (now with the new clothes called asta la "VISTA") os may be good news. No open source so needs to take it as it is anyhow commercial.
