The final version of Microsoft Internet Explorer Beta 2 has been released and provides a more stable experience and tweaked performance compared to the Beta 2 Preview many people have been running. Microsoft are so confident that Beta 2 is end-user complete from a feature point of view that they have launched free telephone support and there will now be an ugrade path meaning that any future versions will simply upgrade the existing version on your computer instead of having to uninstall previous versions as has been the case up to this point. All versions of Internet Explorer Beta 2 can be downloaded directly from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

Yes this is the later version - for some reason the numbering appears to have gotten confused, but it is this version from which the Internet Explorer 7 upgrade path will continue.

Ok. Got it installed fine... but still have no tabs, even after the xmllitesetup.exe trick. What gives?

Goof Luck! I just spent two hours just trying to get IE7 to install with no luck. Tried all the registry permissions fixes but they were already set to the correct values. Went to Microsoft discussion group and after reading all the horror stories I decided I'm not going to mess up my machine until they come out with a decent working version. Way too many bugs.
