Every version of windvd7 is crap they can keep it i dont need Interactual fetures at all if i did.I'd get the InterActual player by itself but i dont want it.

When i try to install, it tell me microsoft visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) is needed. And then appears the error infomation of failure of downloading the pakage.How can i do?

I still can't make this thing work. It keep saying that fail to register .dll files and .ax files.

For those comparing PowerDVD and WinDVD, WinDVD has interface that is easier to work with, even though PowerDVD has been rated as being the best.

By the way, if you want to test the 2, you may find that if you install both, WinDVD will have no sound (while PowerDVD remains fine), then even if you uninstall both and do a registry clean, the problem remains when you reinstall WinDVD.
So if you wanna install PowerDVD and use WinDVD again, make sure you make a system restore before you install PowerDVD that you can go back to. I saw this happen with PowerDVD7 & WinDVD7.

This is either a trail or a very bugged version, perhaps beta? Several functions wil not work, such as the color audio and video fuctions. There is NO uninstall fuction (yet) and WinDVD phones home, wich you CANNOT disable in the program settings. If you want to use WinDVD, than the best option is to go for the 6.1 version from WinDVD, or from the 6.1 version of PowerDVD. The 7 versions of both programs are just not as good. I use KMplayer and Fantasyplayer who suite my needs, but also BSplayer is a good alternative. All three of those programs have a fast aray of settings and in my opinion a BETTER imagequality than WinDVD or PowerDVD and uses less resources. WinDVD 8 looks as it can be promising, but they have first sort out the bugs and make it mor transparant to the user. So, for now you better wait for a proper Retail version of WinDVD.

What do you talking about???? I have installed WinDVD 8 and everithing works fine. I have also uninstall function, audio and color video functions. So go and talk to the wall, man!

If u uninnstall any version of this program mpeg decoders will never be the same again.Even
a re-install and reg. clean does not fix this.

Best to just stay away from it in my opinion.

Intervideo becuase you will find it a dodgy player with VIDEO and AUDIO problems (IN EVERY VERSION EVER).

I tried to install this app on my system, had the visual c++ already installed. Got several install errors and wouldn't even load up after install. I'd steer clear of this one and wait on a final version. Some lucky souls got it to work for them, but no joy here.

And then install the win dvd 8.Works.Good luck.

well there's still version 7 on intervideo.com, but its already version 8 since 31 oct in intervideo.co.jp, you can check it by yourself

Im using both intervideo and powerdvd version 7 and never found a problem or crash between those two

can't help you buddy....lots of people are having problem with this new version
and yet some people are having no problems whatsoever....I'm sure eventually someone
will come up with an explanation for this problem but for now I'll just continue
to use version 7.0...it's not like we're without other options to watch dvd's.

What i want to ask here is that it is eating my 140MB physical RAM when playing DVD video, i have got 7600GT and also hardware decoding is enabled, CPU usage also sometimes pump upto 25%, is this normal usage???
