For the above files and folders, they're from Microsoft C++ 2005 Redistributable Package.
I don't think it can help ppls with ERROR 1904 installation problem.

Open WinDVD8.exe with WinRAR (v3.61) and unpack to C:\WinDVD8 and delete 3rdpartyapp folder/dir and now try to run WinDVD.msi or right click WinDVD.msi and choose Install or Repair. now you can run setup.exe

It does work. First you manually delete the 3rdpartyapp folder and all of its contents, then edited the default.ini to look like this;

[InterVideo]

[ThirdPartyAppDialog]
RealPlayerUnCheck=0
RealPlayerUnShow=0
QuickTimeUnCheck=0
QuickTimeUnShow=0
IMCServerUnCheck=0
IMCServerUnShow=0

Then you can install. You can repack the files afterward so that if you have to reinstall you don't have to bother with the extra crap.

P.S.

Also uncheck the installation of Realplayer, Quicktime, and Its Media centre as well.

guys stop complaining about the absense of Trimension DNM.

You must disable the hardware acceleration of your card in order to be enabled.

It's the first option when you go at: setup --> video

Like PowerDVD that doesn't give you the option to use some of its features if hardware acceleration is enabled. It's 100% normal.

It's the first time I use WinDVD and I find it very good- the best! I unistalled PowerDVD and will use WinDVD from now and on.

Cause
It may be caused by a system dll (atl.dll) not being correctly registered on the host system.

Solution
1. Locate atl.dll, generally found in “C:\WINNT\system32” or “C:\WINDOWS\system32”.

2. Open the command-line prompt

o Start Menu/Run

o type “cmd”

o press “ENTER”

3. Using the atl.dll filename and path, call regsvr32, i.e. at the command-line prompt, type:

o regsvr32 “C:\WINNT\system32\atl.dll”

o press “ENTER”

4. You should see a regsvr32 window, confirming success: Close it.

5. Restart Coveo Enterprise Search installation

Did you actually test this method yourself? Because I tested it and it didn't work.

Ok so I have done the patch followed all the instructions and i am still getting this message: License activation failed due to an internal error. Please contact techical support. Any help would be great!

I called Intervideo today (3-9-07). For WIN DVD8 Vista activation to succeed, you need to go to C drive, program files, Intervideo, DVD8, and toward the bottom of the file list, right click on the WinDVD application icon (710KB size) and click "Run as Administrator". Proceed to the activation window, fill it out as you normally would and,Ta Daa!!!. IT'S ACTIVATED! It works. That simple. We just didn't know it.

uncledukie thanks for sharing this, but apparently it doesn't work in vista ultimate for me anyway. Did anyone else try this; have success. For me it just causes the program to crash. Thanks for looking into it and possibly bringing us closer to a solution.
