The links for download don't work!

I downloaded smpro_dm.exe which downloads the software, but the download doesn't begin, even though I hit the retry button over and over again.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

The last Version 5 was the best (standalone only). The antivirus package (Panda) was the worst. They're still trying to improve Version 6. There are a lot better out there.

Use this hunk of junk at your own risk. In my experience it completely screwed XP so badly that I couldn't even log in! A re-install didn't even help. Ended up formatting. Thank god I partioned.

If your computer ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is, try something else.

Btw, I don't usually comment, but i just feel so strongly against this program.

To everyone who is bashing System Mechanic, I really think you should give it another chance. I agree that version 6 is NOT one of their better versions. Personally I use version 5 becuase I think it is better. I have used this software since version 3 and I could not run a computer without it. It is truely one of the best software packages out there. Before downing the software completely, try version 5. I am sure it is still floating around the net somewhere.

Is it better than 5.5b version?

This software has corrupted many registry files and many other files!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I will say that this software isn't half that bad when it comes to cleaning your system out but it has to use Kaspersky for its virus and spware protection. They need to have there own virus and spyware protection and then it would be good but just like gigabyte said USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Ok...I'm not going to try and install this, due to all the negative comments.
I have Tune Up Utilities installed, and it works great!!!

From what I see here, TuneUp Utils sound better to me too...

Isn't WinXP Manager better though?

the only thing is that this program slow your computer big time , you much have alot of memory and good speed

Baj, Jack_The_Ripper, perhaps its just you who doesn't know how to use it. For one why not just disable SMAnalyzer.exe in your startup processes so SM doesn't do stuff without you knowing. Then you can just run the program like a normal person. Quit your b*tching... iolo is not to blame for pc skills or lack there of. Every person should give a program a shot if they really want to know what its going to do with their system since EVERY program gets mixed reviews. However there are more positive reviews than negative reviews so chances are Jack_The_B*tcher's problem is due to his own lack of knowledge.
