I'm guessing it MAY work on the 32 Bit version...

There are a lot of codecs in this pack. a lot of them might not work on the NEW OS ...

I don't think migrating to VISTA will be easy .... lots of things to think about ... new hardware drivers...
new software.. etc Probably will require major changes on your PC's hardware

I even heard bad news that Vista will be preventing some low level codecs from working to prevent piracy of DRM material....

BOTTOM LINE: Is it realy worth the upgrade? I'd give it a t\year (when the dust settles in)

what's the difference between the basic and mega? is the media player classic included in the basic?

the basic codec pack has everything u might need, whereas the mega codec has all the codecs that ever came out and with it u can play every single video file that u can think of. This includes

1. Flash limited video (.flv)
2. 3GP
3. 3GPP
4. MP1 through MP4
5. DVD Video (.vob)

and many more.

The standard version also has the Media player classic.

Thank you for the *very* comprehensive warning. Sound very srious indeed. Is this REALLY true? There's no way to be positive for me since I live so far on the other side of the world. But I use the net quite often these days and I do agree to be more careful.
