I think again we will have a fight on best anti virus. But I dont know why kaspersky is making beta versions more than its stable version. This is the first ever comp software I have seen to make so much beta versions ....Dont they have a software tester.i think they should hire a tester and publish a stable version rather than beta craps.
do u think it is coincidence that as soon as NOD32 v3 is released that not only we have a flood of Kaspershit 7 betas, but Kasperhsit 8 alphas as well?
heheheheheh....
remember, the next av-comparatives will be the first to test the latest version of the True King...
who is trying to catch up to who?
heheheheheh!

In recent years (mainly from last year though), NOD32 has fallen a bit behind in the detection rankings, but for the most part had remained a close contender and a decent choice. Virus.gr has the latest testing results (Link currently not working) as summed up in this post at CyberNet News. In the latest round of tests (and the one before that, and the one before that) Kaspersky is yet again at the top, with a 99.23% detection rate for the newly-released version 7 and a 99.13% for version 6.
But all that changed with the release of Kaspersky 7. In a test run, we found 3 different trojans on our machines (for a total of 6 infected files) that NOD32 hadn’t detected (even with heuristics enabled and set to the highest level) which Kaspersky picked up immediately.
The real kicker wasn’t the fact that NOD32 missed a trojan, it was the fact that 2 of these trojans have been listed in the Kaspersky virus signature database since mid-2006, and that when reporting such missed trojans the NOD32 team replies in a mostly arrogant manner.
RE:Kaspersky Anti-Virus & Internet Security v7.0.1.270 Beta by Dominator_Physco on 2007-11-13 12:09:12
where a NOD32 user reported to their tech support that several common trojans1 weren’t picked up by NOD32 but were by Kasperksy, the replies by NOD32 moderators are quite shocking. They start off by claiming that the original poster’s title is misleading purposely accusatory (which it isn’t, objectively speaking) and this later escalates (when a new poster claims to have a list of 21 trojans NOD32 failed to detect) into accusations of virus-harvesting and purposely looking for NOD32’s weaknesses.
What should have been a simple “thank you for your observations and our apologies for the inconvenience” became a highly-ridiculous “NOD32 can do no wrong” thread. We’ve been recommending NOD32 since the start, but to us it is clear that this is where we part paths. If a company makes a mistake an oversight of a single trojan, that we can live with. But when moderators on their forum insist on turning it into a personal attack against anyone that has any issues with NOD32, it’s sign that something very wrong is underfoot.
So, goodbye NOD32, you’ve served us well throughout the years (as previous threads and articles will testify). But it’s time for a new AV that continues to improve and without taking offense to simple mistakes. Unfortunately, pride and failure often to lead to one and the same thing - and if there’s a better alternative, we’d be fools not to take it.
ok, forget about all the foolishness.
the trojan that NOD32 missed:
WAS THERE ANY DAMAGE ACCRUED DUE TO THIS TROJAN?
was eset essentially saying that this is a BS trojan so what is the big deal that Kaspersky detected it?
Ad-adware used to tell me all the time that spyware was on my PC, but in the end it was just a bunch of stupid cookies.
WAS THIS A LEGITIMATE THREAT?

@NOD32King
Dude...I'm tired of all the verbal bandying...
lemme tell you...I have Kaspersky installed on my system..its a Quad core..4GB RAM system..so it really doesnt slow my system down..ON the other hand, i have NOD32 installed on an old lappie because I found it less harsh on the system resources...nowere I have said Kaspersky is better than NOD or vice versa...both r good softwares..it just depends on which one you like using..so just ***ing PAL!!
oh yeah, one other thing, chicken shit n00b.
do u know anything about computer architecture, with u hyping up your dumb ass quad core?
did u know that a DP system with two dual cores destroys a single quad core?
idiot, i started running dual processor xeons on my system in 1999, retard.
u are late to the party, chump.

the last sentence..its "SO JUST STOP B.ITCHING PAL"..I dont want the NOD32King to misread it as something else and start a verbal abuse war all over again..I'm tired!!
uhh... dude.
i am not sure what u are replying to.
if u are talking about where u said u were tired of betas and i replied, that reply was rhetorical: i really don't care what u think.
if u are replying to my reply to Dominator, then u need to mind your business cuz i asked Dominator, not u, so in either case...
F OFF.

Hope Kaspercrap comes out of beta with these soon :/ Missing some new stuff from them =3
Also the latest NOD32 is sorta bloated imo. Uses two.exe's one being the interface. Takes atleast around 35-50ishmb in total where as kaspercrap takes only around 9-20mb with one. Also when detecting a virus, it deletes the whole file and not just the infected file itself like Kasper does. From what I've experienced and test with with NOD32 SS v3 anyway. So in the end I switched back :\

hey guys (nod32 and kaspersky lovers) dont fight .I donno why you peoples fight meaningless on this topic ..its your choice to use antivirus ....nobody is perfect here. I donno know if 1-2% more or less detection rate matters for you ..Every antivirus is made to protect our machine ..its your level of security and needs to be protected..If u want u can use avira that has most detection % (see the link
http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2007_08.php)its better tahn every av.But still many uses kaspersky and nod32 ...its there choice ..you cant impose to use the antivirus u like ...but yes u can suggest them ...so guys just enjoy
avs and share your experience:-)
