I case you haven't noticed (for those that have installed the new Kaspersky Antivirus).
The new release of Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0.1.411 is NOT detected by the Security Center of Windows XP. Therefore, the Windows Security Center reports an error "Your Computer might be at risk - Kaspersky Anti-Virus is turned off" even if the Kaspersky Antivirus is ON.
The previous release (6.0.0.303) did not presented this problem.
My Security Center of XP detected it and it's working without problems. I can't see what the problem is with your XP, probably a bad installation or another AV on your computer (?), who knows.
Kaspersky rules!!!

<quote>At present time (22.11.2006 3:00pm GMT +3) update of threat signatures in Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 may run incorrectly. Kaspersky Labs’ experts have already rectified the problem. If the update problem occurs once again, i.e.:
* Update of threat signatures finished with error * Product crashed, when updating the threat signatures;
do the following, to rectify the problems:
* Open the main application window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0 * Go to Settings > Service * In the right part of the Settings window in the Self-defense section uncheck Enable Self-Defense </quote>
I tried it but it doesn't help.

Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by gomanski on 2006-12-07 15:22:54
Folks, just to let you know, it is possible to use a blacklisted key... IF you don't update directly through Kaspersky's own servers! They provide daily/weekly/cumulative updates via .zip files on their website at:
ftp://us5.kaspersky-labs.com/zips
I have a daily update process that completely isolates KIS from connecting to their servers, here's what I do:
1. Download the cumulative .zip file from the ftp server above (av-i386-cumulative.zip ) It's around 8M. 2. Rename the .zip file to something generic, like "update.zip" 2. From KIS' main window or tray icon, go to Settings > Service > Update, and click on Configure... 3. From the "Update source" tab, DESELECT "Kaspersky Lab's update servers". 4. Click "Add..." then find that .zip file on your local drive, check the "Update from unstructured source or zip-archive..." box, then hit okay.
From here on out, you can just overwrite the update.zip file and update manually, but I took it a step further:
5. Write a .cmd file that: a) calls a commandline ftp program to download the daily .zip update. b) after the file is overwritten, calls KIS via the commandline as "...../avp.exe update" to manually update
6. Use windows' Schedule Task control panel to run the .cmd file daily.
...I'm still using the 12/4/2007 key with no blacklisting issues!
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by gomanski on 2006-12-07 15:27:02
Just as a side note, even if folks get new keys, it would probably be a good idea to implement this method or a similar one, as it should be a simple matter for our friends over at Kaspersky to add another entry or two to their blacklist...
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by gomanski on 2006-12-07 15:28:45
...I'm such a spaz. I forgot; if your installation has already warned you that you're blacklisted, **you will have to reinstall KIS** before you attempt the above method.
I don't understand this point. Why is it necessary to reinstall KIS when the the key is blacklisted. It appear that my updates are proceeding inspite of a bad key using the "c:program fileskaspersky labkaspersky internet security 6.0avp.exe" update line in your code.
KIS "complains" about a blacklisted key but continues to provide protection. This being said I can visualize a Kaspersky update that would cause a complete loss of protection when a blacklisted key is detected (sigh... cat and mouse).
Thanks again

Gomanski, thank you for your last comments. Turned out to be quite useful - still there is something the averge computer user like myself don't know: How to write a working .cmd file to work with a FTP application.
Could you please write a tutorial here or something, or respond to this and ask me for my email or something. I use FireFox to enter the FTP-adress you gave, and I can download the updates, but I have no idea how to advance from there...
Regards ....
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by gomanski on 2006-12-08 01:26:52
Tutorial part 2, ;)
I believe windows comes with a commandline ftp client. To test this, go to Start Menu > Run... (or use Windowskey-R) and type cmd. From this commandline window, try "ftp" if the prompt changes to "ftp>" that should be all you need. Now:
1. Create a directory on your harddrive, something along the lines of c:/bin (it can be anything you want, though) 2. To start writing your .cmd, simply open notepad. 3. Your .cmd file should look like this:
cd c:\bin ftp -s:updatescript.txt -A dnl-us5.kaspersky-labs.com "c:\program files\kaspersky lab\kaspersky internet security 6.0\avp.exe" update
The thing to look at is the ftp line. -s is the command that reads in a script file to execute the correct ftp commands. -A is the anonymous login switch.
4. Save the .cmd file in the directory you created. I use "kis_update.cmd" 5. Create a new notepad file for the updatescript.txt. 6. Your updatescript.txt should look like this:
cd zips binary get av-i386-daily.zip c:/bin/update.zip quit
Again, the line to look at here is the "get" command. The first argument to get is the remote filename, the second is the local filename. That directory and filename should match whatever KIS is set up to read. ...and that should do ya!
Gomansky, dude are you mastered in computer or something? you should get an team and program ur own AV ^^

Gomanski
U da man, really creative solution.
Couple of questions:
I am having difficulty modifying your code to save the "update.zip" file in a subdirectory of Kaspersky. I can save it in your example "C:Bin" directory, or even "C:", but not "C:Program FilesKaspersky LabUpdate Download". Any thought.
Other thing that is confusing me is in your description you are pretty random with the use of / or . What is the story here (perhaps an answer to my question 1 is buried in this?)
Thanks

gomanski,
i wasnt aware you could now download the updates aside from using the update feature built into kis. last i had checked they were only available that way if you were using kav version 5 (hence the link on kaspersky website). or are you speaking of something different?
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by gomanski on 2006-12-08 06:57:02
abssimpson:
1. If you're trying to save in a windows path with spaces, you might need to put the whole path in quotes, so it gets treated as a single commandline option. Spaces in between could screw it up.
2. This might affect 1 as well, but I use the forward-slash simply because it's the default way in *nix to specify pathnames. Like you see by your backslashes disappearing, backslashes are frequently used as escape characters. You could theoretically fix that with two backslashes (\\\\), but since windows understands / equally well, I just use that.
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by gomanski on 2006-12-08 07:00:47
Enviouz:
The feature I'm using is in fact in KIS 6.0 (the signatures get updated and show up as current); I believe it's primarily intended for workgroups where the admin would like to execute the download just once, and have other machines update from a central network directory. So, it is Kaspersky's built-in update function... but you can reroute it to a local file so you don't trigger outbound traffic for the update.
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus working key! by ngocmoc on 2006-12-08 10:13:02
Bravo! If you want to use these key that you've post at, you must install KAV or KIS and during the installing, please choose Activate product, then Activate using activate code, next, and wait for Kaspersky Lab answer for this key. But now we have big problem: Kaspersky Lab will check for the valid of your key ---> if it is used by many many person, they will send it to the blacklist so you cannot upload your viruses database from Kaspersky Lab and this program will be not activate again.
If you have a key valid, such as these key above, please note, never update from kaspersky lab, please go to setting panel and establish update from zip file or uncontruction folder, then goto kaspersky lab site and download zip database ---->update from them.I hope these info will be usefull for you and anyone want to use KAV or KIS. KASPERSKY till King. We are crimme.

Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by AaronICK on 2006-12-08 20:23:24
First of all, I would have to say to Gomanski... YOU'RE DA MAN!!!
My key was blacklisted 2 days ago so I would have no choice but to look for another Internet Security Suite that would, at least, match Kaspersky's.
I tried Bitdefender. It was also good. But the most useful program I am using, utorrent, has issues with Bitdefender.
So I went back to this page to see if there is a kind soul who would offer keys to kaspersky, cause I would definitely want kaspersky back.
I saw your directions and steps. And it was totally flawless.
Thanks a lot for your steps. To other members who like to use Kaspersky, you may try his steps.
@abssimpson
The reason why Gomanski wanted you to uninstall and reinstall a fresh copy of KIS (if the key you were using has been blacklisted) is because KIS will never allow you to update your definitions anymore, even if you do it manually using the updates you downloaded at ftp://dnl-us5.kaspersky-labs.com/zips
I tried to rollback before an update but KIS already recognize my machine is using a blacklisted key. So as a punishment, you will never ever get to update again.
So uninstalling and reinstalling KIS will do the trick.
NOTE: 1. During installation, KIS will ask you to update at once, DO NOT UPDATE YET! Click on SETTINGS FIRST, and from the "Update source" tab, uncheck "Kaspersky Lab's update servers". Then click OK. 2. If you already downloaded the cumulative update from ftp://dnl-us5.kaspersky-labs.com/zips , you may immediately locate the zip file and then click UPDATE NOW. If not, do not update and proceed with the next step until the installation finishes. 3. Restart PC when promted.
So uninstalling and reinstalling KIS will do the trick.
I did that (and thanx btw to the Brilliant Gomanski) but i don't know how to do with activation. All keys are either not compatible/expired or blacklisted. Is the idea to ignore activation all together.
Appreciate your help

Hey guys, i know this is a little bit out of the topic but i'll ask anyway. Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.411 Final found a trojan (Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.bcw) inside my newly downloaded AutoPatcher_XP_Nov06_ENU_Full.exe and winamp532_pro.exe. Is it really a trojan? Do you guys have the same problem? Any enlightenment will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by poker_face on 2006-12-09 18:34:30
I just updated KIS 6.0.1.411 early this morning and decided to perform a whole system scan. It found trojans on both autopatcher & winamp that wasn't found using the previous KIS6 (v6.0.0.300) BTW i downloaded AutoPatcher_XP_Nov06_ENU_Full.exe from Softpedia & winamp532_pro.exe from winamps site.
Its amazing that you downloaded the file from "Softpedia" & still got a Trojan in it! They guarantee us that the download is 100% free of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors.
I personally think that its a false alarm by Kaspersky Internet Security. But at the same time I can't guarantee you the same.
Its upto you now to decide whether to install them or not.

Gomanski... You are the real deal man! U r absolutely right!! Even though u find any working key, its a matter of a few days and it will get blacklisted eventually... No doubt about it!! There is no viable way yet that challenges Gomanski's way of doin it. Also, Kaspersky is the best. There is nothing which will make me shift to any other substitute to Kaspersky. So there will always be a need to find new ways to get around it... There is always a way out, and right now Gomanski's method is the most promising. Kudos to u my friend... Adios. \m/

I tried Gomanski's method but when I tried to schedule the "kis_update.cmd" file through Windows Schedule Task, I got an error saying this:
The new task has been created, but may not run because the account information could not not be set. The specific error is: 0x80070005: Access is denied. Try using the Task page Button to locate the application.
I couldn't make out the error. Actually while using the Schedule Task Wizard, it asked for the User name & password. Since I have only got Administrator as the single user in my Windows XP & it doesn't require an password to login therefore I didn't type any password in that field. Is it due to that or something else?
Any help will be welcomed :)

@ zeolite: I had the same problem, too. You have to do the following: 1. Make sure you have administrator rights in Windows. 2. Define a password for your Windows user account. 3. Define a password for your task in task manager.
One more I wanted to ask. Suppose if I don't run the update a day (I mean I don't switch on my PC for a day or two) & run it the next day or later, will the update be successful?

All of the keys are not totally working. Kaspersky already released an update that detects fake keys!!! It started when I update my virus database. It says that my key is blacklisted... Any working help???
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by ftt22000 on 2006-12-15 23:53:23
@ tan2x: Gomanski's method (described above). If you don not want to read the entire thread, just type "gomanski" into your browser's search function and read the appropriate posts. His method is very simple, yet extremely effective . And since all new keys get blacklisted sooner or later it is by date the most permanent solution.
@zeolite: Yes, definitely! You also can double-click on the .cmd file if you don't want to wait for the automatic update. It won't do any harm. If you have been absent for several days, I recommend to first download and manually install the latest cumulative update zip-file and then let the task manager continue with the daily zips.

Sounds great, but there are 2 questions I have:
1) Could you please repost the download links? The ones you posted seem to be incorrect. 2) Isn't the KIS trial version inhibited in some functions compared to the activated version (i.e. I think you have no access to updates as long as u r running the trial version)?
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by A.T_Styles on 2006-12-16 15:30:34
what do i do when my license key is blacklisted? And when that happens i cant update.
It has been mentioned already. Blacklisted keys will prohibit you from auto-updating.
The only solution for this is to uninstall your KIS or KAV and then re-install it. Your blacklisted keys will still work if you do not allow KIS or KAV to update it automatically the first time you re-install the software.
Go back several posts. Look for GOMANSKI's post and follow the steps he provided to do this trick.

I'm also a "Gomanski Solution" happy user, but what I notice is that if you don't turn on your pc for some days it's possible that you don't have all the updates even if the date is "today"... And things like "missing krnunp.avc" could happen, for me the update failed then I dl the cumul.zip and worked fine.
So what I'm testing is another "Gomanski Solution kit" to run weekly using the all sundays updated av-i386-weekly.zip, I don't just add another get command in the first kit because if I do it starts to be to many downloads just for kaspersky, and even more if you run it more times a day...
THX GOMANSKI everything works 100%!!! I just couldn't make task manager to run the .cmd like in every 2h, but thats no problem just used a keyboard shortkut :)

Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal/Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0.1.41... by abssimpson on 2006-12-25 21:47:36
The Gomanski Solution works, and works and works, but at a guess it is possible that the problem you are having is caused by spaces in the windows path. If this is the case you might need to put the whole path in quotes, so it gets treated as a single command line option. The spaces in between could screw it up.

When I double click the command I created it opens 2 command windows, one starts downloading something for 10 to 15 seconds and finishes without problem but the other window says that the updater failed. Is the gomansky method working on my pc even though I have those 2 windows with their respective messages? Does that mean I need to double click on that command to download the updates?
The first window is the ftp server window downloading the av-i386-daily.zip update files and saving them to whatever directory you set in the update.txt , the second window is the avp.exe running the downloaded update file.
Publish your script or send it to me at fox_qkunfk@trashmail.net and I will comment as best as I can.

You will have to uninstall and then reinstall KIS. AaronICK provided this bit of information: NOTE: 1. 3. Restart PC when prompted.
Now apply the Gomanski Solution (search for "Tutorial part 2" in this posting) and you are away to the races.

UPDATE:
I decided to use the key with the software just to update Kaspersky. It worked flawlessly so far and I've since disabled the online automatic update. I STILL HOWEVER, would like to figure out the problem with the things I listed above.
When it updated itself from the kaspersky server it found i0607.xml right away and pulled up the corresponding definitions. It then updated without question. Have I done something wrong with the pulling of the files from the kaspersky server? I used the ftp given above numerous times and all with the same result.
Just an update..cheers.

*sigh* after reboot...in addition to the above. The key used was blacklisted. Making the problems i've been having all the more relevant.

i think there is still a black.lst file inside of the update people get from the ftp source......
it might be best to remove this file in winzip from the update before applying it

Now that Gomanski update solution doesn't work, I've discover a way to update even if you are already blacklisted.
Step 1: update Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 6/Kaspersky Internet Security 6 any way you want (including Kaspersky Lab's update servers). You will be prompt your key is blacklisted. Step 2: shutdown Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 6/Kaspersky Internet Security 6 Step 3: go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Bases Step 4: delete black.lst Step 5: restart Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 6/Kaspersky Internet Security 6. You will be prompt that file black.lst is missing or corrupt. Doesn't matter you have already update! Don't believe me, look at "signatures released:"
Hi guy, try Gomanski method, but do not do the second part. After install, register it. You download the cumul and daily file, delete the black.lst file, and then update it manually by the gomanski method. I have tried and succeeded

to those having problems with i0607.xml file...
to get rid of this just update to the latest build (6.0.1.411), I know it is not still available for all languages but uninstalling previous builds and installing build 411 makes gomansky method work again

Question:
Is there any benifit to installing the newest KIS build (6.0.1.411) over a previous build (6.0.300)? If yes, do I need to uninstall the previous build to install the newest?
Thanks

If you cannot delete black.lst, go to "Setting" then "Service". Uncheck "Enable Self-Defense". Any problem, post it here!

Kaspersky is the best Anti-Virus on the planet, because a lot of suites nowadays recognises and uses Kaspersky engine. ZoneLabs' ZoneAlarm 7 - it uses Kaspersky engine (in virus scanning) AOL Active Virus Shield - powered by Kaspersky Lab (and it's Free) G DATA AntiVirusKit 2007 17.0.6282.872 - it uses double engine Kaspersky and Bitdefender
Kaspersky is the best!
