PCs connected to the internet are under constant attack by viruses, Trojans, Internet-worms and other malware. Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal, aka. KAV, monitors all virus and spyware entry points leaving you with a clean and safe machine. KAV now includes a redesigned interface supported by new architecture. The program is simple to install and use. You only need to choose from three levels of protection, allowing updates as frequently as every hour that won't disrupt your CPU.
Changes in 5.0.527:
FIXED: A bug that decreased the speed of chm files scan has been fixed
FIXED: Error that caused incorrect display of license key expiration date has been fixed
FIXED: Error that caused system freeze when a sound scheme was described incorrectly has been fixed
FIXED: Error detecting some viruses in the script monitoring component has been fixed
KNOWN ISSUE: Anti-virus database update rollback option becomes possible only after the anti-virus database is updated twice
KNOWN ISSUE: Incompatibility with OpenVPN
KNOWN ISSUE: When the option “Automatically detect the proxy server settings” is checked, user name and password, saved in Microsoft Internet Explorer for authorization on a proxy-server, are not used

I like Kaspersky very much. I know that it is the best Av, but NOD32 is
very good as well. Why does NOD32 give so many errors when I perform an
in-depth scan?
And when I installed kaspersky after having NOD32 it has detected over 200 threats. Why?

I tried almost all Antivirus available in the Market... Norton, McAfee, NOD32, PCcillin, Panda, etc. But nothing really compares to Kaspersky. Very user friendly. And the best of all, it is not a system hog. It doesn't slow down my PC. And it is the only Antivirus that doesn't have any technical issues with my PC. It runs very smoothly with my other programs without any glitches unlike some antivirus (NOD32 for example) which oftentimes mess up my computer.

im gonna format my comp soon..so ne of u guys give me bout 5 reasons to switch from bitdefender to kaspersky
I will give you the reasons to switch from BitDefender to KAV.
It is at least 5 times better than ANY AV on the market. It has a very
good detection and it updates most of the times without asking for
restart.
You do not need to restart your computer when it removes spyware, and
it doesn't use a lot of memory. I have KAV 6 under Windows XP, and KAV
5.0.527 under Windows ME, and they both work very good.

Well now that I have an AV software, do I need a firewall as well? or is the Windows firewall enough. I am satisfied with KAV after having Norton Antivirus, McAfee, BitDefender, and NOD32.
There are only three software you need for security: ANTIVIRUS, ANTI-SPYWARE, and FIREWALL. It doesn't matter which antivirus or firewall or anti-spyware program you used since in the end, the "best" program is the one that works best on your system. What works on my system may not work that well on yours. Equip your PC with those software and you are assured of greater security.

Kasprsky vs Avast by hezekiah on 2006-03-27 20:41:38
The best anti-virus existing are kaspersky and avast.
Avast give three options of registration: server, client and workstation
It is very good as Kaspersky.

The reg keys are working. And you won't get blacklisted soon. The only disadvantage of some keys is that they are only effective over a certain period of time. But you may look for other existing keys to prolong your subscription. Like in my case, I install Kaspersky Antivirus PRO version which will expire on July 16, 2007.

Does anybody have some new keys for a longer subscription? Mine expires on October 2006.
Thanks
