Even so I still prefer Kaspersky. Never let me down. It not slows down my system, I'm simply satisfied with what it offers to me. Before KIS I used AVG (very weak, didn't detected 6-7 viruses I had), McAfee (now this is a resource hog, thought the detection system is pretty good), NOD32 (hungarian product, very light, but to many false positives), Avast (medium AV), Panda (it hasn't such a good detection system), Symantec AV Corp. (I think just as good as KAV), and finally my first AV I used Norton AV (very, very big resource hog). These are my experiences, others may have other opinions and I respect them. Everyone should use what suits he's or her needs.
So my vote is for KIS. (even with the betas and all, we need those too, this way I know they are working on the product to make our protection better).
Good night everybody!

i think Bitdefender is the very good on system resource and the detection s very good i had install kaspersky once but it slows dont my computer very bad worse when its starting up. thats my take base on experience.
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations 6.0.2.678 by PD1447 on 2007-03-16 09:55:21
NOD32 already recognized it, I would think KIS does as well.
RE : by salmonela on 2007-03-16 10:27:40
Stop lying , it doesnt.
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations 6.0.2.678 by PD1447 on 2007-03-16 10:35:05

I thought they poped this jerk already.
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations 6.0.2.678 by PD1447 on 2007-03-16 10:59:02
I extracted it and NOD32 went off and removed it.

Now it refuses to let me re-extract it.

If the signatures arent already there then what set NOD32 off?
Re: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations 6.0.2.678 by xpmule on 2007-03-16 11:25:33
still havnt turned on any AV since the last debate

pure entertainement i love it lol

I love the bold statements with no proof thing too

Having Nod32 miss Ardamax keylogger on me was more than enough
reason for me to never uses it ever again (they should be seriously embarrased)
and i mention it cause what what did detect it and remove it when nod32 failed on both ?
Yup Kaspersky IS King

anyone care to prove the ram usage comparison with some hard numbers ?
detection rate ? hell i dunno ANY kind of proof that Kaspersky is NOT king ?

Kaspersky bashers should have their pc taken away or atleast
keep their AOL lovin nambla surfin on mom's pc hiding in the basement nerd butt quiet !
spend more time watching anime or something and leave the big kids to talk with the grownups

Nod32 sucks .
why cause it fails to Detect AND remove 5 year old keyloggers and ill change my opinion ..maybe ;)
thats almost teh same as saying Nod32 doesnt detect the sub7 trojan LOL lame garbage

Is not work with Windows 2003 Server,y?
I Need one AntiVirus for my server running windows 2003 pls help!
RE : by PD1447 on 2007-03-16 19:36:44

For something as important as a server you should be using NOD32 anyway.

Kaspersky has to many false positives roe server use.

BTW:

New malicious software was found in the attached file.
Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.bqw
It's detection will be included in the next update. Thank you for your help.
RE : by DarkEula on 2007-03-17 01:58:25

ROFLMAO!! Next update?!  Hahahahaha!

Get it through your thick skulls... anti-virus programs are junk.  They only react to what is already known.  What about the unknown malware?!  I'll tell you... you are stuck with it.

I'm already protected from this trojan WITHOUT ANY UPDATES.

Wake up and visit www.sandboxie.com.

To whoever might concern

I just want to share my experience with you from 4 antivirus I have tried over a year now.
I have a network of 3 computers at home and one at the office.
In each computer I have installed a different antivirus: Kaspersky (home PC), Avast (home laptop), Nod32 (home PC), Mcafee (office PC).

My best ever experience comes from Kaspersky: a very professional tool indeed. Excellent protection. Lots of features.
My worst ever experience comes from Mcafee: I have found more that 5 infected files so far that mcafee cannot detect (which I have sent over to our company's IT administrator to prove my findings)

Avast is very good and it is the "lighter" (in cpu and memory resources) of them all.
Nod32 is also very good but it is slow and consumes a lot of cpu power when scanning on demand. I am not so much impressed with it.

Kaspesky also takes a very long time when scanning (i have to leave it overnight for full-scanning) but it does not consume so much cpu power.

I have to agree with 'Anti-Malware's posting. I haven't found so far any infected file that Kaspersky cannot detect. I am really impressed with Kaspersky.

Chris
