Kaspersky Lab represents a new generation platform for creating applications specifically designated for complex protection of personal computers and workstations...

Don't attack me, NOD32King! :-)
But for some reason I think this 8.0 Kaspersky will give NOD32 a run for its money.
RE:Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.113 Beta by xsonarx on 2007-12-22 05:33:02
A faulty signature update from Kaspersky Lab on Wednesday flagged up Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) as infected with a low-risk virus, Huhk-C. As a result the core Windows component was quarantined or worse.
Kaspersky released a revised update alongside advice on how to recover legitimate system and application files from quarantine (the default setting) within two hours. But that's not much consolation for users that had set their software to auto-delete infected files, who found themselves with hosed systems.
Among those affected was Reg reader Carl. "A false positive caused the deletion of explorer.exe.," he reports. "It would have only caused problems for companies performing their network scan during the hours that the dodgy update was present - which included me, unfortunately. I was working out of hours to fix the previous Kaspersky update problem. I finally finished sorting it all at 5am.".

Ironic.
Most virus writers are from the Soviet Union era.
And now the top two AV softs are from the Ukraine and Russia...
So it is a possibility that we are supporting as King some people who in a prior life were out to get us...
Heheh.
Perspective.
Maintain it.

Listen Kasperconeheads,
There is only ONE TRUTH and it goes like this:
NOD32 is KING and the KING IS NOD32 !
Being the SUPREME COMMANDER, the KING orders you to stop using Kaspershit and worship the detecting and destroying powers of THE ALMIGHTY
NOD32.
THOSE who not listen to the KING shall be kicked in their asses by THE KING himself. Oh, and he will stuff a copy of NOD32 right into your butthole too so that no more shit will come out in the future !

I was giving Kaspersky a try, as it seemed to catching up with NOD32.
And I'm no fanboy of any application, I simply want the application which kills all of my virus and trojans.
But what happens?
Kaspersky kills both my Lord of the Rings Online game, and now suddenly I get all these errors popping up because it screwed something in XP.
After 4days of use, Kaspersky has messed up both my favourite game and my something in my operative system.
Not very impressive, I wont even consider Kaspersky before its the full version!
Haven't had these kind of issues since Symantec days.

RamGuy do you have any idea how far back through 9down to get to the last final version of kaspershit that was put out?
Beta is the final for this garbage.
Stick with ESET and you'll be fine and safe and your OS will not be slowed down or "worse"!!

My position has been that both NOD32 and Kaspersky are soon going to be extinct, so it doesn't matter who is "King".
It has been that way for a while.
The market is moving from AVs to HIPS.

You stupid morons are arguing over which is the better AV.
Seriously.....GET A LIFE!!
Both are very good pieces of software.
And yes the soviet union era countries have the best software developers out there, PERIOD!
As of now eset performs the better out of the two as tested by av-comparatives, VB and a host of other independent labs.
Competition between companies is good as it results in a better product for 'YOU' the user.

there is no Comparison between the king and nod ..
maybe the Comparison it's between the king and avira antivir .. only
;)
::: MERRY CHRISTMAS :::
::: HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 :::
AVIRA is competitive product, but its heuristic is sometime problematic. Kaspersky is always best.

RE:Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.113 Beta by phudi69 on 2007-12-24 00:20:04
I would consider switching to avira if it didnt produce so many false positives.
Also in most recent av-comparatives test it missed a polymorphic threat.
And somehow kaspersky got an advanced+ certification.
VB Dec 2007 test result:-
Kaspersky
Status: FAIL
Failure reason: 1 wildlist misses
Result history: Kaspersky
Product name: Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Details: Only available to subscribers.
Avira
Status: FAIL
Failure reason: 2 false positives
Result history: Avira
Product name: Avira AntiVir
Details: Only available to subscribers.
Eset
Status: PASS
Result history: Eset
Product name: ESET NOD32
Details: Only available to subscribers.

kaspersky internet security 8.0x beta is still in the testing phase. Why? I need to know why the team kaspershit has not released their full and final version. I think the team is afraid that the moment release full and final version, the crack/serial will soon be out and people will have no business buying kaspersky and just enjoy the cracked version.

NOD32King is not here. I appreciate, he keeps his words.
Kaspersky 8 is in alpha phase, so new users should take all necessary steps (data backup, clean ur winxp/vista installation cd, in case if needed) before setting it on their computer.
Kaspersky 8 will be a very nice AV, with best features in AV industry. Just wait and you will soon have it on ur system.
Wishing good luck to kaspersky lab.
Happy new year to all 9down and its members (& NOD32King).

Avira is good competitive product, but has problems with heuritics. Kaspersky is always best. Remember kaspersky has good heuristic analyzer for on-demand scans, with low FP

If you use your computer only to surf on the Web, ESET Smart Security is enough, all sites aren't exposed on viruse's risk ... "KASPERSHITTTT IT'S A LOAD OF CRAP" ... Only 4 percent different between ESET Smart Security and Kaspersky in the AV-COMPARATIVES ... Personnaly, I have test the 2 and there is no way, ok I admit Kaspersky is better for his detection perform, but VERY VERY VERY SLOW DOWN your connection speed, it has been proveen in numbers articles in France ...
Whereas, ESET Smart Security works very well, with analys time's record concurrently with Kaspersky, especially at startup of your computer ... So, if you need a AV, I RECOMMENDED STRONGLY ESET Smart Security than Kaspersky, because I think ESET is largely enough to surf on the Web, evidently on site of you can have trust and his lightness IS THE MOST GRATIFYING I HAVE EVER SEE IN A AV !!!!
Trust me test the 2 and give me the difference !
Otherwise, take ESET Smart Security THE BEST EVER for me !

Well, well.
Seems like even without PD1447 and NOD32King many still have a strong opinion on which AV is King.
Note also that your buddy uagadugu is still polluting the NOD32 thread with FUD and false test results, while so far I see no false reporting here from NOD32 fans.
I still say you can determine a lot about a product by looking at its supporters.

@Boyfriend
Your buddy uagadoodoo is still filling up the NOD32 thread with posts where he took the sad news of the Kaspersky failures and replaced "Kaspersky" with "NOD32".
You see I have not post any anti-Kaspersky stuff in your thread?
And you know what?
I am still not even going to bother.
It is just sad and pathetic that some Kaspersky supporters have had to go so low as to lie and doctor up test results.
And kiss7ass7, I don't need different ids to post the TRUTH, one is good enough.
