They're all shite , they're the qunts who invent the viruses in the first place. well if you guys havent noticed, kaspersky is not worth getting because all tho it detects 100% of the viruses it takes about 4 times as long as NOD32 witch detects about 98 or 99% of viruses ( the last percents are only add bugs >aka: pop-ups witch is no threat ) if kaspersky is going to take that long to scan then theres no point in using it because ull get bored waitin a whole day or 2 for it to finish. by time it finishes itll probly say:
A virus is detected please scan you computer again to make sure it is gone!

- I think the bugs mostly come from different versions of Windows rather than other software. Keeping a software compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Server2003, Vista, Longhorn 32 or 64 bit versions, and different BIOS programs and also with Windows updates and beta versions is an ongoing full time job.
- The software companies receive bugs found by their beta testers and then fix it in the next versions. Each new beta version means a better product (except for Micro$oft products!!)
- The full scan time is pretty hardware dependent. CPU clock speed, RAM, motherboard speed and HDD seek time and transfer rate can dramatically change it.
Let us stop nagging about Kaspersky or Norton or any other product.
You just use what you like to use and let others use what they want to, unless they ask for help.

Kaspersky was exellent in version 4.xx
Than gone exremely bad in version 5.xx
I hear it's back to good now, but this beta stuff is really, niether serious, niether professional...
Stick to NOD32, Avast for now, until KAV team decides to get serious.

What do you think : if you comapred ZoneAlarm and Agnitum Outpost ver 4 (still beta unfortunetly) what are pros and cons of using either?
I really appreciate opinions of most of guys here, so it would mean a lot to hear it.

I'm curious about something...I d/l both KAV and KIS....installed KAV first...then when i tried to install KIS, i was told i had to uninstall KAV first...soooo i uninstalled it, ...installed KIS...then installed KAV...so far so good...BUT, i cannot have both programs running at the same time...
my question is this...do i need both? are they both the same program under different names...it appears that KIS is great for firewall and proactive scanning of sites/popups/etc....but KAV seems to do more of the actual computer/HD scanning....Can both be run simultaneously? If not, which prg. is the best to keep on my system...

@finnus KAV is kaspersky anti-virus and KIS is kaspersky internet security.
KAV is a product inside KIS. KIS holds everything you need to protect your computer.

That is true what Joel406 posted , but in Kaspersky Anti Virus 6 and Internet Security 6 has many settings to can be disabled!!When you not use a mail program ( Outlook or other stuff ) than can you deactivate the mail scanner in the anti virus and the spam protection in the internet security. When you want more Ram than can you disable the Application activity analysis,the Application Integrity Controland the Office Guard and in the internet security the anti spy control!!Than have you more CPU and RAM!You can tune you Kaspersky what you want and so settings can be maked that your Computer run faster!! Than can be played, edit video or make what you want , Kaspersky do not stress your Computer!!

I have known License Key Info being in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\LicStorage]. But, even if this registry key is erased, reactivation of trial is possible. About Kaspersky ver 5.X Trial, Trial key file is in Installer(SelfArchiver), but 6.0 is not so. How is Activation Code of Trial known ? or Where is Trial key file ?
