Y these kaspersky people keep on bringing beta version or MF and CF... I m not satisfied with this Kaspersky's strategy. They should bring out one complete version like others do like symantec and mcafee. This year's latest AV result r out on www.av-comparatives.org, however kaspersky has been given Advanced+ system.. yeah it is good av and it's updating and detection mechanism is also good but these crap betasssssssss are killing all people.......

if you have a old computer and not enough memory ,it will be better use NOD32,if you have new pc with more than 1GB memory use kaspersky,i used both ,they are very nice

Hey Alrichdesa, Kaspersky is with out a doubt better then NOD32. www.av-comparatives.org tests the programs and 4/6 of the top contenders use the Kaspersky engine (Including Kaspersky). NOD32 only got Advanced. While Kaspersky got Advanced +!

Aww PD, why tear up viruses? If you put it into a password protected .zip then its fu.cking harmless you tool. You guys have the time to see if Kaspersky detects it, and apparently it doesn't. But you can't spend 2 seconds right clicking it and make it a .zip?

I have no emails showing me malware Kaspersky cannot detect and remove. And when V3 of NODshit comes out, I no within 10 minutes I can find malware it won't detect. And I'll post the results. And I hope you shit your pants.

Theres 4 variants of this piece of malware. I hope this has persuaded you to download Kaspersky as it detected all of them. And NOD32 missed ALL of them. You want the file, tell me your email and its as good as yours. Even if you send it to Eset and then NOD32 detects it, I can find another sample in less then 10 minutes easily.

It seems to be a war b/w NOD32 & KAV. I dont think there are much diff b/w these two. When there are a new virus come out, one might miss. There are always have new virus coming out & the ranking will change again.

I would prefer NOD32 as it consumes less mem. Now I am using NOD32 & CODOMO firewall, my PC seems to be much faster than ZoneAlarm suite. I do not like resource hungry prog, by the way I have 1 GB of mem. Just update the definition regulary & you should be safe. I had been using comp for >14 yrs and never got damaged by virus, just keep update. NOD32==> my choice PS. I have not try KAV but I think it should be good as well, except resource hungrier.

Pengsp, try KAV. I use KIS (Including the firewall and other extra's NOD32 doesn't have) and when I downloaded NOD32 it took around the same resources. I suggest you download it and you'll realize its not a resource hungry AV like Norton. I only have 512MB of Ram and KAV hasn't slowed me down a bit.
Yeah ZoneAlarm suite is a system hog, its why NOD32 improved the speed.
And yes surfing safe is the best way to protect yourself, but for others like myself I need the best AV to keep my computer alive. And the best AV is Kaspersky.

My Task manager shows Codomo mem usage 11k, NOD32 24k (2 components kernel & GUI).
The best way to keep computer alive = best computer practice = install all necessary prog & update (without firewall & AV) = make image, Ghost or Drive Image 5 (DOS version - not bulky Drive Image 7) = install firewall & AV & update. and always backup data DVD-Rom or CDR (not RW). = Never restart to write project, report, thesis, etc....
Statistics from 1 raking may not give the actual picture, look beyond 1 round. It seems Kaspersky & NOD32 are the main contender for the top spot (for get about NAV & others).
BEST AV & Firewall = effective in detect & remove+Fast+small foot print
