Plz tell us that is it final or again beta one.

I have been using kaspersky internet security latest 6.0 version all patches and updates and i m satisfied with it's performance and it's detection capabilities of threats. I have all sorts of Antivirus and Internet security Like Norton Internet Security 2007 and McAfee Total Protection 2007 panda internet security 2007 Zonelabs Internet Sercurity Latest one and bit defender latest Nod32 latest but i found that all r crap except McAfee, Nod32 and Kaspersky. Mcafee Slows down the PC, but yeah detection rate is good and global threat monitoring is awesome, but in case of Nod32---- yeah it detection is quite good  and decent  and cleans every virus but there UI is ugly and it does not come with firewall so i preferred to use Kaspersky it has all features and power....... Although Zone alarm is better with KAV engine but this 7.0 version is unstable, it made my PC slow and finally  hang. Another AV like AVG, bit defender Norton 2007 products  r memory hogs and they does not detect every threat...... Signature files are also outdated if we compare McAfee and Kaspersky with them So Guys Fo on With KASPERSKY BECAUSE IT IS THE KING

It's a beta you idiot...., betas are newer than a FINAL. A final has passed thru alpha, beta, then release candidate before becoming final and marked as stable. This is in testing and I love testing :D

Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by gouthu on 2007-02-27 17:43:40

You don't require any additional anti-malware softwares... when you have Kaspersky in your system.
I tried these anti-malware softwares to test my system (which is having Kaspersky Internet Security 6):

1. Webroot Spy sweeper latest
2. Regrun latest
3. SpySubtract latest
4. Spybot S & D latest
5. Spy Doctor latest

None of them detected any viruses, adwares, spywares etc and they reported that system is clean.
This means that, Kaspersky Internet security can provide total protection.
Don't waste your time in searching anyother anti-malware programs.

Thank you.

RE : by pluto9964 on 2007-02-27 18:58:43

whatever av you are using, it is as good as you have updated to the latest, configured to be supported by your os. Any of the two missing, you are not getting the potentials.

wrt spybot, do you set it to expert mode? and scan your pc under the safe mode? and your spbot has the latest updates? --- this applies to all avs and os/s --- which means i can not monitor viri/etc realtime surfing. it does not matter as i dont go into suspicious sites and even when i am caught, i have THREE hardisks ghosted as stanby/s ;-))) i am using windows2000P. here i delete the pagefile.sys in the "infected" hardisk after i have rebooted on the floppy dos mode. then using the infected hd as the slave and the next standby hd as master, copy all the mails/newsgroups/good installer progs into the relevant folders using norton commander 95-- Remove the "infected" slave, reboot the new master  to get the new pagefilesys. Again, reboot to safe mode on the "new" hd master check using 1clickmaintenance(tuneup), adware-full, sd-expert mode/full, regsupreme-full. I DONT USE ANY AV AT ALL ;-)))))))))))))) --- regards/pluto

THANKS TO 9DOWN FOR ALL THE FREE GOOD WORKS-- HOPE YOU MANAGE OK FINANCIALLY.

Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by sjc001 on 2007-02-27 19:03:18
I find that Kaspersky's products are great, but they come with a cost. I find that the firewall slows down the connection drastically, even after turning off some of the less important features, and the AV also slows down the system as well as adds quite a bit to boot up time. Like they say, "You can't have fuel economy and power at the same time. Its one or the other...."

@ zavir_91 , please in the future you should properly mark submitted title , this is BETA.
There is enough confusion about Kaspersky product marking , you should not confused it further.

Note: AIC is still broken.

To all thoes who say norton is a hog.
Yes it is sort of but no more than any other of the same offered protection.(NIS V's KIS,NAV V's KAV)
After a slightly slowed startup(old775 Socket cpu only)
there is nothing to complain about.

Anyone complaining about norton was already infected
when they installed it.
So it could not fix errors that have been stored in sytem restor already.
Or it could not install & protect properly from the infection already present.
Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by fatboys25 on 2007-02-27 23:36:23
ive seen others work
they slow statup with
virus scans, updates, popup messages about everything but the weather.
Norton is King for life.
Notice i only needed to say that once.
Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by fatboys25 on 2007-02-27 23:43:13
The AMD AM2 Socket
does not even care that Norton is there.
Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by fatboys25 on 2007-02-27 23:46:08
And NIS
Still works fine on a
P2 466, 256mb Ram,4Gig HD,xp sp2.
Rather be Protected than Infected

Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by zawir_91 on 2007-02-27 23:59:02
Usually it is A NOD32 AND KASPERSKY WAR. But now it's different.

What a stupid thing to do.

If u don't like kaspersky, don't post annoying comments here.

That's the solution. Don't create AV WAR here.

You're just like kids

or UNPAID PROMOTER of other AntiVirus maybe.
Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by zawir_91 on 2007-02-28 00:02:28
Why do you post annoying comments, you're

1. Wasting energy
2. Wasting electricity
3. Wasting time

There are a lot of other things to do compared to these AV war.

So, i repeat STOP POSTING ANNOYING COMMENTS HERE. IF U DON'T LIKE KASPERSKY, SIMPLY IGNORE THIS POST. IT'S BETTER TO DO THAT......

Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by Molly on 2007-02-28 04:34:11

Kaspersky and NOD32 are the only two rated AV progs out there IMHO.

Those that know what they are talking about will know that because you don’t see any problems it doesn’t mean you don’t have any. I always laugh when I hear someone say my PC is running fine and assume it is OK. Ho! Ho!

Have any of you that have commented carried out any trials of your own to compare the various AV and Security Suites that are about?

YES I’ve tried all those that are worth trying and some lesser regarded ones just so I can see how they stack up against the so called BIG BOYS in the arena. I don’t have a multi $million budget but I have a way of comparing one against another that most of you can’t even comment about.

I spend a lot of time repairing and trying to eradicate others people’s PCs from what it is that is making their systems SLOW and often unusable and they know something is wrong compared to what it was once like as things don’t work or all manner of c**p just pops up at will.

The biggest threat to any PC is an idiot or incompetent Pilot. Some know it all (so they will tell you) and have the same repeated problems that they can’t understand.

Here’s what I do and this is how I am able to make comparisons against one app to another. If my words or methods are wrong then you can tell me.

If a not so well PC comes my way then the first thing I do is pop out the HDD and pop it in a USB2.0 external caddie and scan it from my own systems as the HDD is still asleep then and no OS and running apps to contend with. I have used this routine on many a HDD and have scanned them with what I decide to use at the time and they are always the latest and updated versions of what is out there. I have done trials and just scanned and NOT deleted or DISINFECTED anything that’s found but I have logged it. I will try another app and then just keep looping the process so I have the info to compare what is found.

Have any of you tried doing that on a regular basis?

Norton is a “Bucket of S**T” and it just doesn’t come near the systems I use daily.

McAfee is not far off the same.

Anything that is FREE isn’t FREE because it is GOOD.

As I have said Kaspersky and NOD32 are still the best that are available. KIS6.0 wins as it’s a multi app that’s speaks a common language and just does it all. NOD32 is a bit behind re that status but is an always handy 2nd check app.

There was a time when NOD32 as real-time scanner and Kaspersky as an on demand was the best option due to Kasp’s system hungry footprint. Those days are long gone and if you know how to drive Kaspersky and tweak it out to its max without knocking out protection features then there isn’t anything that comes close.

For those of you that use Kaspersky (THE BEST) and then disable certain features must have rocks in your heads. If PC security is important then why weaken it?

If I drove a Ferrari I wouldn’t stay in 1st gear as that is not what it was designed for. Some of you obviously do.

I spent a long period of time in many Beta tests re certain products and Kaspersky do listen if what you have to say is valid and it is not far down the road in an update or a major overhaul.

Kaspersky has been my preferred choice for many years and I try to break my own systems just to find out as I know how to make very safe images that I can get back in about 30 mins. If you can’t break it then just keep trying and I run out of ENERGY before Kaspersky does.

Any of you have any ideas how I can try and break it some more???

With love Molly

Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by PD1447 on 2007-02-28 09:37:14
Yes I tried NOD32 after the spyware scaner found the trojans, then with kaspersky(found 0) then with NOD32 which found 2 more.

NOD32 or Kaspersky is better now ?

What do you choose ?

Is it true that
NOD32 = faster, lighter but lesser protection and Kaspersky = heavier, more ram usage but much safer ?
Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by PD1447 on 2007-02-28 20:46:21
Ok uaga if you review your av comparatives rating history of kaspersky you find its rating goes all over the place.
from advanced+ all the way down to STANDARD. NOD32 just came through 4 straight advanced+ reatings and this its its first drop down to simply advanced. I got a feelin your little av comparitives site really doesen't mean that much. Argueing thiat point will make kaspewrsky look very bad.

It shows a great instability in in the way kaspersky is put together.

NOD32 on the other hand shows rock solid stability. Thanks for showing that NOD32 outdid kaspersky in the last 4 ratings though. Noww eveyone will see the superiority of NOD32.

Good job uaga showing us all how much better NOD32 is compared to kaspersky. Thank you.

NOD32 for those that damand the best.

And avoid this kaspersky crap you "will" get infected if you use it, uagadugu and myself are living proof of that.
Re: Kaspersky Lab Products Build 6.0.2.675 by aurics on 2007-02-28 22:34:10
the only importnant test is "on demand" tests, when is used the whole antivirus base
just look carefully from year 2004 till now ... ? Kaspersky is scored every time Advanced+ ;)
now see nod32 ... scored 4 times only Advanced :)))
guess who is the KING now ?

Long live King Norton of Symantec.

Can't wait to see you all cry when
Nis 2008 comes out for vista and older.

By then you should be uninstalling kasper 6.9.......
and letting one of the viruses it did not remove spread
before you can install kasper 7. :-)

Since you guys of familiar with warez, you need to think of anti-virus signatures as "blacklists". When you do, you will realize that there are always virii that are never blacklisted.

You need protection that doesn't care about signatures.

Kaspersky seems to have connections with KGB / FSB

Norton and nod32 also have connections with the FBI , CIA and NSA.

DarkEula, your virtualization shit doesn't stop 100% of viruses/trojans/dialers/rootkits/other malware.

Anti-viruses don't either.

Find a reason why I should get virtualization over Kaspersky which has detected every sample I have tried to download.

I posted my email above earlier for people to send me viruses/trojans/rootkits/dialers/other malware Kaspersky does not detect.

I still have no emails.

Yeah I'm spacing it out and crap so I don't get spam emails.

Norton is a decent AV... It just has alot of bugs and isn't great with removal of rootkits. And it's a little resource heavy. But Nortons detection is a thumbs up definitely.
