All the .DLLs and the.EXEs have 7.0.0814 as the internal version number, had to believe someone would go to all that trouble to create a fake.

You'd be surprised at what some people will do.
The "so-called" improvements are non-existant.

Props to Damn you Inky for announcing fooling us about the "leaked" MSN Messenger 7.0.0814. Good work by the reshackers though and like Jonathan Kay, Microsoft MVP, said: "it does (seem to) run faster, or would that be psychology?"

UPDATE: So don't bother downloading. It's just your old average MSN Messenger 7!

UPDATE 2: Props to PoTaToX and Rolando anyway for being as motivated as ever to make translations and patches for this "build"!

A post appeared yesterday on the internet of a seemingly new build of MSN Messenger 7, it added new features previously not included in the final version (7.0.0777). MSN Zone posted this and later retracted it as fake.

A copy of MSN Messenger 7.0.0814 has leaked onto the internet. It includes a few new key features and bug fixes. Only one can speculate on what the new "Promote Buddy" button means, but I have a feeling it has something to do with some sort of contact list feature. MSN also seems to have added an "Always on top" button for when your using MSN Messengers Contact List without the menus. They have also included the option to disable the blocked file extensions, an improvement over having to use a third party tweak like wtbw offered.

This version also supports better contact list scrolling and faster load and sign in times.


Take your news from a credible source, not one that derives its hits by posting fake news like mozilla 1.04's release two days after 1.03 hit the net.
