Microsoft has released a technology preview of a application it calls "Photosynth," which has the capability to turn two-dimensional images into three-dimensional landscapes. The program does this by analyzing several different images of the same object, and then reconstructing it in 3-D. The user would be able to virtually "walk" or "fly" through this space, Microsoft says. Photosynth is slated to be demonstrated at the Siggraph 2006 computer graphics conference in Boston on Wednesday. Photosynth was born out of Microsoft's Live Labs, a group of scientists and engineers that are studying new ways to use the Internet. The group was founded in February 2006 by Dr. Gary Flake, who joined MSN as a distinguished engineer in April of last year. |

Every material thing man has made , started with a far out idea from mans mind.
Like a human see's 3D , even through one eye , a focal unit , and a processor that 'displays ' it , I believe this idea will work.look at the Vista windows on a normal fst-screen , those images are a kin to 3D , and we don't use any of the 3 things you mentioned , as an extra anyway.
I believe , if an idea can be built in the mind , a very close resemblance can be made
outside of the mind , after all , the mental materials we use to construct it , came from outside the mind anyway , and are already here , in reality. Most of what we are we have either seen , touched tasted smelled or heard before.
The only original exception is God.
This will work , and it won't be long before we're flying round the earth in 3D.
It is possible with training. I can do it, requires special photos , they are 30% overlaped, these are usually photos taken from planes to study earth surface.
And then you can see 3D looking at 2 photographs as if you where there.
we are MiCro$0ft......you will be assimilated.
resistence is futile!
