im running premium and VirtualPc runs fine in windows2003servicepack1 compatability mode...

When I create a Virtual Box Image it scans as having a virus each time under Symantec and Avast.
I don't use it because of this.

I should mention that before I install Virtual Box I have no viruses on my machine.

It's not called Virtual Box , it's called Virtual PC and it's a fantastic program.

When an antivirus program shows a valid program as a virus , it's called a false positive - Symantec are well known for it.

They're always pleased to recieve emails stating that their program is showing a false positive and they correct matters immediately.

If you haven't used this program , or VMware is another - i recommend that you experiment with it , it's one of the most fun experiences one can have with ones box ;)

VMWare wouldn't let me install NForce drivers and such, Sound/Video/LAN all replaced with its own version.
Pretty useless if you want to test things with your actual hardware.
Does VirtualPc do the same or does it let you use your own hardware and drivers?

Might give VirtualBox a go instead of VirtualPC for now.

VMware is about the same as VPC , i use VM Ware personally.
what it does is installs another operating system on your computer , so you can have it displayed and running in another window , within windows.
You can install as many operating systems as you like , including Vista/win98 or even another copy of xp , and of course any of the Linux Distros.
So , instead of having other operating systems on partitions , where you can only display them one at a time , these programs let you have LOADS OF EM , all running on ya desktop at once sorta thing ....
