There is a WGA check on installation, but there are several workarounds. Here is one that i found myself and worked very good:
---------------------------------
WGA workaround: WinRAR needed!
-Extract installer (mpsetup.exe)
-run wmp11.exe in folder (not setup_wm.exe)
-restart your pc,
-run three other exe's in extracted folder (not setup_wm.exe)
---------------------------------
Test if it works, if not: do this:
-Rename wmplayer.exe in C:Program FilesWindows Media Player to something else,
-Extract wmp11.exe (already in your first extracted folder), and
-copy wmplayer.exe from that folder to your program files folder

Could somebody help me on how to solve my installation problem? First of all, I have already followed all the procedure on how to install it. But when I run wmp11.exe, error comes up with can't find framedyn.dll. After that, I put framedyn.dll into the extracted folder by downloading the file from website. Then I try to intall again. But this time after I try to install wmdbexport.exe. It stop running with some errors. Pls hlp..................

I personally recommend not to download this BETA version.... better have patience & wait for the full version cuz Windows Media Player 10 is HELL OF A LOT BETTER than this crap.

Ok, first, the file from rapidshare doesn't work anymore. It's removed. Second, the legitcheckcontrol file does not work for me and I did everything you said like extracting it and then replacing my old file, as well as replacing the one that came with the wmp11 file. It's not working. Does anybody know why?

I have to say that I hated this version of media player. It is so much different I could not navigate it and find anything at all. I screwed with it for about 30 mins and still was not comfortable with it at all. I even had a problem with the play list showing tunes that had been gone for months! WTF is that about? I agree that media player 10 is alot better than this new release by microsoft I suggest that you keep what you got it you are using 10 it is alot easier to use. I had some time getting rid of Media player 11 from my machine. I dont' use system restore just for the fact I dont' like it taking away resources for nothing. I have not ever had any luck trying to go back to a system save point so I figure why use it if it is useless. BTW I use XP Pro SP2 you are really taking a chance downloading this version if you dont' know what your are doing and dont' use system restore or something similar you will just end up with a all night format to get rid of it :-(

I got a huge problem, I tried to download WMP 11(dial-up) and then my pc would just disconnect.  It kept on doing this continuously every time I would try to download WMP 11, does anyone know where I can get it WMP 11 but like in different mirrors, like mirror #1, #2 blah blah blah

I have installed WMP 11 as described on this page but now I can't stand it and it won't roll back!!! Please help!

I have tried rolling WMP 11 back to WMP 10 but it doesn't seem to want to do anything.

I went to the Add/Remove Programs and then went to Windows Media Player 11 and then Change/Remove and gone through the process and it says "Rolling back was successful" (or something along those lines) but when I go back to the Add/Remove Programs window, WMP 11 is still there and so is that damn Framework! When I try to remove that one, it says I have to uninstall WMP !!! But it won't let me rollback !!! ARGGGHHHH! I think I'm gonna go mad! LOL

I don't know what else to do and I really don't want WMP 11 because it's causing too many problems, so if anybody has any idea about this, please reply back. I will be ever greatful !!! Thank yoooo!
