Cool. Another great update from the folks @Mozilla.
Nothing wrong with their nightly builds. Work fine.
RE : by Webkikr on 2005-06-21 21:59:28
I agree. I have been using the nightly builds for close to two years, and I have never had a problem with them.

There maybe a small bug with extensions, but those usually get updated pretty quick.

Hey!! If you weeners don't like it...don't d/l and install it.
Wait for the final release, not that it will make any difference.
Stick with Internet Exploder, a 10 year old excuse of a browser, bug infested and lame!

Ummm, wtf? IE was here way before firefox, you should thank Microsoft for that, IE started it all... fool.

Plus IE is the only browser that is actually compatible with everything online, Firefox doesnt even have 100% compt with flash stuff and has many bugs yet to be fixed.

The following components are not compatible with the new version of Firefox:
Littlefox 0.10 and Nautipolis 0.10 and will be disabled.
But Firefox can check and install newer, compatible versions of these components.
Updates are available and these are the Extensions and Themes updates:
Nautipolis 1.0.9 and Littlefox 1.0.9

While installing the Littlefox plugin there is problem about Malformed File.

>Why do people insist on being dumb?

>For one, notice in the title that it says this is a nightly build. If you want to wait for a final release, do so, it doesn't matter to the rest of the world. If this application is that important to you, go to the main firefox homepage, and wait there starring at the screen waiting for the final release. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all! If you don't know what a nightly build is, ask!

>The last, and most stable version of Firefox was 1.0.3. But since it had some security issues, they fixed them in 1.0.4. That release now has more bugs than 1.0.3 had due to the fixes. One bug that Firefox has always had.... is lack of real power! Most animated .gif's will suck up every bit of CPU in most all machines. Open a noisy .gif, then open task manager, and watch your CPU percentage. Mine often hits 90%. Do the same in IE. See what I mean?

>Internet Explorer is the most powerful browser avaliable today. Since the release of SP2, and some other patches, Internet Explorer is as safe and secure as Firefox. It is up to user preference to which one they like! No one will ever win an arguement between the two!

>It is very true that Firefox will still not support all the scripts and code on webpages today. Many pages will freeze and crash Firefox, while IE flips through them with ease.

>I use Firefox as my default browser, because it does what I want it to do. It has wonderful themes that make the interface very simple, and clean. It handles popups differently and more quietly, though, it still lets many through. TABS!!! I love tabs!!

>The folks at Microsoft have a great idea though. Internet Explorer 7.0. They understand that people like the functionality of Firefox and Opera.... tabs, not so much bloat, and excess crap popping up all over the place. Easier options, with a simpler layout. So they will include all that, and it will still be a very powerful browser with less bugs, less freezes, and less cpu usage than Firefox probably will for another 6 years. I will most likely switch to Internet Explorer 7.0 when it is released. For now I use Firefox.

what is nightly built? can someone plz explain?
Re: Mozilla Firefox 1.05 Released by Docer on 2005-06-23 06:18:58
Pre-Alpha

Sometimes a build known as pre-alpha is issued, before the release of alpha or beta. In contrast to alpha and beta versions, the pre-alpha is usually not "feature complete"; that is, it is at the stage where designers are still wondering about what functionalities the product should have. Such builds can also be called development releases or nightly builds.
