Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. The goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. The intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with the browser.

Simple. 1.5.0.7 is part of the current 1.5.x family and will mainly just fix bug and patch security holes. 2.0 will be a major leaf including several new features, visuals etc. which is meant to compete with IE 7.0. If you want to try out Firefox 2.0, wait until tomorrow because the final (not RC) Beta 2.0 will be released, or if you don't like Betas, just keep using 1.5.0.6 (latest stable version), 1.5.0.7 etc. until the final version of Firefox 2.0 is out.
