damn straight! But the new x64 firefox is in alpha and buggy as hell (hence the name minefield). IE x64 is far superior, more stable,faster and safer than any 32-bit browser (simply because nothing can install on it! I'll use firefox again when it supports activex. Firefox is secure and fast, but MOST websites were designed with IE in mind--PERIOD. I can't visit my bank sites, shopping sites, software/hardware autoupdate sites without IE. (I visit pc pitstop to tune everything every now and then). x64 Windows rocks, but until firefox gets it's sh*$ togetner, it's useless for me. Otherwise, I use Opera on my Gentoo system. I know there is a plugin in firefox that can open IE within a tab, but I've had problems with that... websites don't always recognize that fact. The plugins are cool, 32-bit can't compete with x64 IE. Neither can Minefield, and firefox CANNOT use most websites that have security features (most of which are designed with IE in mind--activex). I have to use firefox on linux and I hate using wine and/or crossover office on linux (IE is useless on linux anyway--opera or firefox IS the best on linux based OS's).

I compared the Firefox v2.0 RC3 Firefox.exe with the firefox.exe in this package and guess what : Firefox RC3 is BIT for BIT the same as the so called FINAL version !!!

Firefox v2.0 RC3 was released a few weeks ago, the new 2.0 brings nothing new !!! No bugs fixed, nothing changed since RC3 was released !!!

How to be up todate !

Very simple.... just go to options and avanced and validate the auto update button and FireFox will tell you every time a newer version is available, just say yes and Mozilla site will do the rest with the same language you already use.

thanks for the info. I didn't encountered any problems downloading from mozilla's ftp server. I just used flashget. I was able to download it in less than 3min.

Saw since end of november more n more extentions got aproved for ff2.0 on extention folder follow up info extention website mozilla.
You favorite extention not comp[atible? open in 7-zip the xpi file, edit install.rdf (found <em:maxVersion>xx</em:maxVersion>, change xx to 3.0x. result: <em:maxVersion>3.0x</em:maxVersion>
save and close. 7-zip back compress to archive xpi.
Other way use Mr Tech local install or Nightly Tester tools to bypass the compatible check.
About Opera, yes its fast browser, Excellent but some people like to change the source code and individulize it how u wanna do it with opera it isnt opensource you have to take what u get and cant do anything byself only as the ui settings thats it no file editings at all same as internet explorer.

if u really care about security and speed run linux (--- Windows CANNOT even run without the IE html rendering engine!!!!!). If ur not lazy, get off ur arses and learn how to compile a decent linux box --Gentoo (my favorite) or Slackware. Compile it yourself; don't use a lazy, bloated distro like Ubuntu,Suse or Fedora. Compile it all from source to fit ur system like a glove and take total control. Keep a stripped down version of Windows (XP) --no background services running and plug security leaks with reg tweaks and/or firewall/av programs--keep it on the backburner for games (stripped down! --perfect for a gaming system if that's what you want). It's not difficult to dual boot--not at all. GRUB and NTloader are a breeze to configure. Newer linux kernels have an NTFS file system support option so you can access your Windows drive(s) with ease. Screw IE Screw Windows --if u weren't running Windows, u wouldn't have so many gripes about speed, security, and/or stability... PERIOD. Firefox is your problem. IE is your problem. WINDOWS is your problem.... That's the problem---they are all problems!!!! I dual boot. I use Gentoo as my main OS--secure, fast and stable, and Windows is always there waiting for me when i need it. Screw Firefox for Windows. Firefox on linux is a different story because it is running ON linux! I'm not a MS hater.... not entirely. Even MS respects, uses (some servers) and studies linux. The great corporate beast Microsoft won't even put down linux. Why should you? (for reasons other than sheer laziness or gaming compatibility issues).

These are just the base programs that I use daily...

In genneral I found that Firefox meets my needs so this IS MY CHOICE!
