Windows can be stripped of MSIE and the IE Core... agree that some of the features won't work but it can be done and this means that Windows CAN very well run without IE!

To sum it up, Windows can be as safe as it can be if youn know what you are doing! No one needs to switch to linux if they don't require the kind of OS that it is!
