ESET NOD32 Antivirus offers superior, comprehensive protection, the fastest scanning throughput, and the least performance impact of any solution. Keep your important information safe & stay productive with peace of mind. Running separate applications for viruses, hackers, adware, and spyware can slow your PC, be difficult to manage, and provide questionable protection. Beware of large, bloated internet security suites that consume hundreds of megabytes on your PC. These typically exist because vendors have acquired products and 'bundled' them together. In contrast, ESET NOD32 was designed from the core as a single, highly-optimized engine that works as a unified Anti-Threat system to protect against a broad spectrum of malware. Viruses, worms, spyware, and other malicious attacks, which are constantly evolving. ESET NOD32 utilizes patent-pending ThreatSense® Technology to detect tomorrow's threats in real-time, by analyzing code execution for malicious intent - keeping you ahead of the malware-writers.

Can anyone please tell me what the nod32 update viewer does?
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by doctordalek on 2006-12-21 20:55:20
uagadugu, your cussing is worse than a 10 year old kid in a state school, don't get me wrong, I agree with you about Kaspersky being the best, but you need to stop childishly retailiating to any comments made by PD1447.
Kaspersky has always been voted the best anti-virus software available, but it is made for professional users. NOD32's only critisism is that it's virus detection routines aren't as effective as Kaspersky, but that's going by a review that was made a year or so ago. The client has probably improved significantly since then. It really boils down to what you're used to.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by trash_eraser on 2006-12-21 21:53:52
I don't want to have arguments
But I used NOD and using Kaspersky.
Anyway, I think they two has their own advantages.
So you have to choose yourself.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by DarkEula on 2006-12-21 21:54:28
If I HAD to use an anti-virus, it would be NOD32. It has the smallest footprint by far and gives the user total control.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by serantares on 2006-12-21 22:10:38
Use NOD32 for active scanning because it's lighter but still does a good job and use KAV for On-Demand scanning, when you suspect something might not be right and also use it for scheduled scanning... weekly! Don't be lazy to add a schedule task... it's for your own good!
As into what version it is... well, it's 2.70 allright but english has the subversion .23 and russian and czech have .25... it depends on what has been modified.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by fck187 on 2006-12-22 01:33:53
Check NOD32 on projectw dot org... I posted there most of what Eset's got! And sometime today I'll get all types for 2.70.23/25 including codes...

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE POSITIVE THING FROM UAGADUGU... WHY DOES 9DOWN KEEP LETTING HIM RETURN????????
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by PD1447 on 2006-12-24 12:36:18
Now see what you all did...you went and got slamed by the uaga.
Not that it really means anything its really meaningless in the end.
Who cares what he thinks of anyone, its clear what everyone else thinks of him.
If you all knew half the crap he really has pulled behind your backs you might start talking tar and feathers...or worse.
Just ignore him.
He will eventually go away. 9down goes through periodically and wipes a bunch of his drivel out, cleans up a bit. Eventually they will get tired of it and wipe him away.
To answer the people who are complaining about the "Full Version" button appearing in their NOD32 update pane...ignore it, check the information setting in the NOD control panel and you should see 16 million days for trail. Thats 45,000 years of updates so relax and enjoy the true sense of security that "only" NOD32 users enjoy.
You Kasperdumbasses can keep hunting for unblacklisted seials to try and keep the garbage alive. Should worry about all the infections that are getting through Kaspercrap as well. You'll never find Kasperjoke on any government computer anywhere. Wonder why??? You do find NOD32 there and in many other countrys as well.

Children , children everywhere catch yourselves on and do not despair.
The only true thing that will remain in this doubt, is the fact of the matter that your word "really means nowt".
I suppose on behalf of the rest of us I will say, shut your mouths and go on your way!
While on this subject there is one thing for sure, NOD and Kaspersky will not be perturbed.
Go forward ye children although you may moan and find a new cesspit to call your home.
Now for the adults, I would just like to say can we please get on with the business of the day.
No more of this B******T of who is the best, at the end of the day personal preference is best!

well , i am using Nod32 and not retarded , i once used Kasperscrap and i noticed 2 things:
1- it slows ur computer down to a crawl
2- the time it takes to scan is like forever, seriously i started the scan of my 120 gigs hard driive , it was 11 pm , when i got up at 8hr30 am, the scan was still on and only at 72 % and the 6 version is supposed to be faster ROFL
People talkin like Uaga r prolly 13 yo teens or retarted (lol)
so stay with ur Kasperscrap but don\t bother us with ur shit in a Nod32 thread kid !!!

Hily Crap!
I get busy a couple a weeks and the uagadugu goes insane for someone to harrass.
Hes gone so far over the edge he thinks everone who disagrees with him is the same person.
The got pills for whats a alin your brain dumbass.
NOD32 is proven superior in every "real" test...And thats all that matters.
Use it be safe, stay the hell away from that kaspersky shit and you'll be fine.
Lat the uaga and btman circle jerk their way to an infected dell or fisher price or whatever kind of crap gets em on the internet. it cant have a lot of life left and will die soon and then we do have to put up with crap like theirs.
Its sad when you realize the uagadugu is probably the sound he makes while sucking btmans cock.
Their both dumbasses and have no business anywher in the internet.
Good luck with the shitheads I will be gone till after the superbowl, picked up a job with the NFL till the end of the post season. Been traveling last 2 weeks, and drove uaga all the way to the crazy house.
I just got portable nod 32 anybody know how to apply nsane fix to this portable nod & how to update it?

Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by PD1447 on 2007-01-18 11:33:37
Well...I go away for awhile and you kaspersky butt jockeys just seem to fall right off the tallest dumbass mountain you could possibly find.
uaga still cant come up with "one" thing to say for himself(or herself, even he's not sure).
btman I'm not sure if your stupid or a full fledged idiot.
Listen to darkeula he's smarter then both btman and uaga combined(so's my 4 year old daughter)
You use Kaspercrap...your computer slows down and manual scans take hours. As far as that dumbass btmans concerned whoo cares that NOD didnt find your little BS test virus or whatever, the heurisitics prevent it from doing any damage to the system. Thats what their there for shit for brains. You said yourself that no AV is 100% effective. That includes Kasperjoke!
And as for what type of rigs the rest of us run, lets just say rigs like mine are so far ahead of "you" that your better off not knowing what we have. I will say my rig is at the very least unique. And far more powerful than anything you will ever have the privilidge to even know about much less access.
So give it up assholes you lost a long time ago.
NOD32 made kaspersky it's **[ 9down.com refused this word ]** a long time ago. And I proved it.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by PD1447 on 2007-01-18 12:15:37
By the way 9down your new sever is suckin in case you havent realized it yet.
9down is now the slowest site around. Nad with losers like uaga and btwannabeaman there is less reson then ever to come here. I suggest you fix it.
I'll be leaving for the playoffs friday and may or may not be back before I go to superbowl.
Got to keep my buddy tony happy other wise he send peyton after me.
Good luck with the assholes NOD fans. Always remember you will never find kaspercrap in any PROFESSIONAL SITUATION. Worth remembering.
RETARDED ONES FROM ESET WERE 5 DAYS LATE TO RELEASE THE UPDATED DEFINITION FOR ITS NODCRAP THING!!!

Give up jerkoff.
NOD32...simply the best.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by nomadcool on 2007-04-05 01:09:30
NOD32 really sucks. It can't detect simple viruses, malwares and adwares. I don't understand why does ESET says that NOD32 has the best heuristic. Its totally worthless. Norton is even better than this.
There are places on the internet that will help you comfigure it properly.
In reality NOD32 is the best there is.
Re: NOD32 2.70.23 by rampantandroid on 2007-04-14 10:56:18
Or you dolts could take a quick look at AV comparatives and realize that NOD32 and Kaspersky each have their own stengths - NOD32 with its heuristics, and Kaspersky with its overall detection rate on demand. There is concrete evidence behind the arguement, but the final point is that whether you choose NOD32 or Kas, you have pretty damn good protection.

Ok..
perfectdumb, boromeo. Both are children who somehow decided that the world must be protected with their NODCRAP and nothing else. And when people disagree with them they go totaly jihad nuts.
Either they trive on attention or the ridilin ain't working. NODCRAP is really an useless and dangeorus crap of which everyone should stay away from.
Just forget about them and eventualy they'll leave 9down and this place will get back to being a good thing. Instead of what it has become since they came around.

Why Kaspersky IS Better Than nodCRAP - Here’s another reason!
By: Alexander Dimitru, Security Expert
"You can’t always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as all the vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they are leaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts stating that in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarely state what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out of nodCRAP; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so.
A computer with nodCRAP and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by several Trojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times you would delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. nodCRAP could not disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty. Couldn’t get rid of the threats! Cmd didn’t help much either – I guess they were stuck in the Recycler or something. Now, what I advised the owner of the affected machine was to run other AV solutions… however, none of the free ones seemed to do better than nodCRAP, fact which was to be expected. Then she asked me what else could she buy, so I advised her to get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The minute it had been installed it asked for an update and a full system scan. It took Kaspersky about 2 hours to scan a 70% full 160GB hard drive, but it found 8 threats and eliminated them all. I then rebooted the machine and scanned the folders where the viruses had been discovered – now it was all clean. So, based on this experience, I would definitely go with Kaspersky, rather than nodCRAP.
To us users, it’s these things that count. It doesn’t matter what tests and magazines say – when you’re facing a threat and your AV doesn’t help you enough, then you deem it useless. Users don't care what other threats it may destroy – they want to get rid of the ones THEY'RE facing! Furthermore, after this happening, I definitely became a Kaspersky fan. I, for one, don’t care how much resource it will eat up – at least I will stay protected. What’s the use of having security software that will not "stress" your machine, if it’s also ineffective against viruses?"
KASPERSKY IS KING
