somebody help me ... what's is Perlovga virus [or trojan]? i've met it when i'm inserting a USB hardisk pocket in my comp ... i knew this trojan cos i used NOD32, it says there's 2 files infected; copoy.exe and Autorun.inf ... it was detected as trojan, but cannot removed from my comp, only quarantined ... so when i look up to ESET.com a can't find list of virus that inform about this trojan .. so any one can help!

This is all so true. However its still a good idea to get all the protection possible.
Sandboxie is awesome. I combine it with good AV, FW and spyware and your safe. Yes I use a hardware solution to boot(thought I forgot the Cisco did'nt ya)
However scare tacktics and lies in general are poluting 9down.
Kaspersky is fine protection.
NOD32 is a little better of an AV program. Less false positives and less time scanning. Kaspersky seems to do a good job time wise as well just not as fast. My systems my not be a fair test being so many harfdrives and files. A terrs takes time when divided between 4 Hardrives.
NOD32 and outpost or bitdefender would be great but I havent seen Outpost or BD in a Vista release yet.
Kaspersky is running on 3 machines here, and they are running Ultimate Vista. The others are running NOD32 and the Vista FW I don't put betas on these babies.
The large networks I manage are not running Vista and they all use NOD32. Kaspersky is to unstable for those types of highend situations.

Well uaga...I desperatly wanted to use kaspersky. I felt the product was maturing and getting past all the bad raps that have been leveled against it. And it in my opinion it has.
Unfortunatly Kaspersly missed 4 trojans that another ad-ware program did find.
Theses are bad trojans too. At this point things look bad for kaspersky.
I have removed it from my main computer and replaced it with NOD32(what else).!
After a full scan with NOD32 2 more treats were identified and removed.
Kaspersky missed 6 treats. Serious ones at that.
Whatever program uaga has been screaming about is more then likly safe. Kaspercrap can't find real treats you definitly can't trust what it does find to be legitimate.
I was running .614 final when all this came up and it had its up to the minute updates when it failed to find these infections.
The King Has Returned.
If it weren't for a casual ad-ware scan I would not have known that kaspersky was so weak in the AV side.
I do like the firewall in kaspersky. Learning mode is great. Total control and thats what you need. To bad abouth the AV.
NOD32 is the only way to go at this point.
Sorry boys kaspersky is a failure.

So far NOD32 is the only antivirus I trust.
I re-tried kaspersky's last final and had it miss 6 trojans that NOD32 did not.
Use and enjoy people of the masses.
NOD32 is truly the only real solution...

I retried kaspersky v .614(finals only)
A rutine spyware scan found 4 trojans missed by this supposed best AV.
After removing kaspersky and replacing with NOD32 2 more infections were found and quicly dispatched.
Believe what you will NOD32 has never failed me or an of the uses I have set it up for.
I just upgraded my own machine so I'm playin with a big speed boost its fun.

I can Able to Update to 2162 (2nd April, 2007) Now But there I get a Button for Full Version(Upgrade to Full Version) after updating my Database. But Still works Trial.

I can Able to Update to 2162 (2nd April, 2007) Now But there I get a Button for Full Version(Upgrade to Full Version) after updating my Database. But Still works Trial & Updating from Standard NOD Servers.So Why not Use NSane Fix 2.2 for NOD32 2.70.32 Standard.

Cleminti tests antivirus programs on a quarterly basis, in which he tests each product against around 500,000 worms, Trojan horses, viruses, and other malware.
G Data Security’s AntiVirusKit (AVK) came top in Cleminti’s test, being able to deal with 99.5% of the malware that was thrown at it. In second place was AEC’s TrustPort AV WS (99.4%), while Avira’s AntiVir PE Premium came in third (98.9%).
The well known Symantec Norton Antivirus came sixth (96.9%), while McAfee VirusScan came 14th (91.6%). Microsoft’s Live OneCare came in last at 16th (82.4%), well after Dr Web Anti-Virus, which came second last (89.3%).
Cleminti also tested the antivirus products with polymorphic viruses, which are viruses that automatically mutate in order to try to avoid detection. Only two products, Symantec’s Norton AntiVirus and ESET’s NO D32 antivirus, were able to detect every polymorphic variant thrown at them. In the polymorphic test, Live OneCare came second last.

download offcourse. it's the best..
and to answer on nodfix 2.2...because that way you get trial version with ability to update from trial servers and get "days left" but with NODLOGIN you get comercial version of antivirus...with ability to update from all servers..and when password expires it just updates new password from server. better NODLOGIN than nodfix..
anyone have version 6.0 of NODLOGIN?

My NOD32 doesn't update from Mar 27 (signatures version 2148.) It is downloading updates to some percent, and then statrts again from zero. I am looking for NodLogin 6 or something that will fix it. Pls, help!!!

"Eset's nodCRAP has long been our favorite anti-virus program at NeoSmart Technologies.
In recent years (mainly from last year though), nodCRAP has fallen WAY BEHIND in the detection rankings, but for the most part had remained a decent choice. Virus.gr has the latest testing results as summed up in this post at CyberNet News. In the latest round of tests (and the one before that, and the one before that) Kaspersky is yet again at the top, with a 99.23% detection rate for the newly-released version 7 and a 99.13% for version 6. But all changed with the release of Kaspersky 7. In a test run, we found 3 different trojans on our machines (for a total of 6 infected files) that nodCRAP hadn't detected (even with heuristics enabled and set to the highest level) which Kaspersky picked up immediately.
The real kicker wasn't the fact that nodCRAP missed a trojan, it was the fact that 2 of these trojans have been listed in the Kaspersky virus signature database since mid-2006, and that when reporting such missed trojans the nodCRAP team replies in a mostly arrogant manner.
Looking at this thread where a nodCRAP user reported to their tech support that several common trojans ((One of which was found in our test run here at NeoSmart Technologies)) weren't picked up by nodCRAP but were by Kasperksy, the replies by nodCRAP moderators are quite shocking. They start off by claiming that the original poster's title is misleading purposely accusatory (which it isn't, objectively speaking) and this later escalates (when a new poster claims to have a list of 21 trojans nodCRAP failed to detect) into accusations of virus-harvesting and purposely looking for nodCRAP's weaknesses.
What should have been a simple "thank you for your observations and our apologies for the inconvenience" became a highly-ridiculous "nodCRAP can do no wrong" thread. We've been recommending nodCRAP since the start, but to us it is clear that this is where we part paths. If a company makes a mistake an oversight of a single trojan, that we can live with. But when moderators on their forum insist on turning it into a personal attack against anyone that has any issues with nodCRAP, it's sign that something very wrong is underfoot.
So, goodbye nodCRAP, you've served us average throughout the years (as previous threads and articles will testify). But it's time for a new AV that continues to improve and without taking offense to simple mistakes. Unfortunately, pride and failure often to lead to one and the same thing - and if there's a better alternative, we'd be fools not to take it."

Why Kaspersky IS Better Than nodCRAP - Here’s another reason!

"You can’t always tell which is the best anti-virus for your machine, as all the vendors will claim they deliver top-notch solutions, that they are leaders on the market and all that. Also, you often get facts stating that in some test a certain anti-virus ranked first, but they rarely state what competition they had. In any case, in view of recent events, Kaspersky beats the crap out of nodCRAP; and I will give you some facts and explain why it is so.
A computer with nodCRAP and Windows XP SP2 had been infected by several Trojans. The AV found two of them and no matter how many times you would delete them, they would still pop up after rebooting. nodCRAP could not disinfect the files, it just deleted them. That was pretty nasty. Couldn’t get rid of the threats! Cmd didn’t help much either – I guess they were stuck in the Recycler or something. Now, what I advised the owner of the affected machine was to run other AV solutions… however, none of the free ones seemed to do better than nodCRAP, fact which was to be expected. Then she asked me what else could she buy, so I advised her to get Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. The minute it had been installed it asked for an update and a full system scan. It took Kaspersky about 2 hours to scan a 70% full 160GB hard drive, but it found 8 threats and eliminated them all. I then rebooted the machine and scanned the folders where the viruses had been discovered – now it was all clean. So, based on this experience, I would definitely go with Kaspersky, rather than nodCRAP.
To us users, it’s these things that count. It doesn’t matter what tests and magazines say – when you’re facing a threat and your AV doesn’t help you enough, then you deem it useless. Users don't care what other threats it may destroy – they want to get rid of the ones THEY'RE facing! Furthermore, after this happening, I definitely became a Kaspersky fan. I, for one, don’t care how much resource it will eat up – at least I will stay protected. What’s the use of having security software that will not "stress" your machine, if it’s also ineffective against viruses?"
