The KeyGen causes alerts with anti-virus software, but I've run the file with Sandboxie and no other files were created besides "BASSMOD.DLL", which is clean according to my anti-virus and VirusTotal.com (VT gave one negative result out of 36, which just said "Suspicious"). I imported the registry entries from the Sandboxie session and there was nothing unusual/suspicious in what I saw.

If you submit the KeyGen to VirusTotal all of the negative results label it as a packer, which will always seem suspicious to anti-virus software because of the nature of the file's structure, even if it's perfectly clean.

If someone more knowledgeable about such things could examine the file with Sandboxie or whatever that'd be great, because I really want this KeyGen to work; I've never been able to use Nero 8 or 9 because of that PatentActivation crap (and please don't suggest deleting files, it doesn't work!) :)

Has anyone got a full download the trials have no help files and its a pain in the azz to downloade em all. if someone has the full version with all options please post a link.

- "NeroPatentActivation.exe"
- "NOSProductRegistration.dll"
- "NOSUsageStatistics.dll"

Deleting files won't solve the problem. If you use NeroVision you will be forced to register/activate, otherwise the program closes. Nero Burning ROM works fine, and clearly this is the only component these "file delete advocates" are using. I really wish people would test these methods before saturating the internet with them.

Do the following:

Give it time and see what happens. Keep in mind that you are still using the trial version of NeroVision's MPEG tools, so you might not be prompted to activate immediately, but you will.

I want to make an instruction now how to crack nero 9 without patentactivation:

1. if you still have nero or older versions of nero on your computer then start the nero general clean tool to delete nero from your pc (better to run it twice)

2. to make sure everything from nero is deleted -> run a registry- and a crap cleaner

3. install now nero 9;
copy and paste the serial during installation

4. don't reboot (if it is needed)

5. before you reboot make sure you have the folder "Nero Recode" and "Nero Vision" in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 9\
if not then MOVE (not copy and paste) your both folders ("Nero Recode" and "Nero Vision") to the place above

6. ok, now reboot! during reboot press at the beginning F8 many times-> then you see a menu-> select Safe Mode

7. in Safe Mode run the patch from SEH TEAM now

BUT DO NOT crack yet;
before cracking open the task manager an close the process explorer.exe (open task manager with Strg + Alt + Entf)

8. only the window of the patch is opened-> select a license type (e.g. OEM) and press the three "Crack it"- buttons

9. restart your pc and move your folders "Nero Recode" and "Nero Vision" in
C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 9\ back to their installation directory
(if you have already installed nero in C: then you can skip this point)

10. then delete, move or rename the files "neropatentactivation.exe" and "AdvrCntr4.dll" (these two files are in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\AdvrCntr4);
if you decide to rename then do it like neropatentactivation.exe.bak for example, same for AdvrCntr4.dll (i'm not sure if this point is really needed but to make no problems do it)

11. FINISH!!! try to create for example a dvd- video in Nero Vision you will see that the patentactivation still comes up but it's not a problem-> just close it and continue with Nero!

I agree with Oceanex. But there is something I'd like to add that after cleaning up through nero general cleaner and deleting all registries of previously installed nero 9 software. When you install a fresh copy of nero 9 software. You don't need to activate via pat.ching nero patentactivation etc. You can use nero keymaker 3.0 which is free from any virus and properly scanned by Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, to duly activate your nero 9 software. I am using it and it's working fine on pc.
